The country I have chosen is Norway. Norway is located on the western side of the Scandinavian Peninsula off the coast of Europe. It is bordered by Sweden and the Norwegian Sea. The area of Norway is slightly larger than New Mexico. It is known for most of its natural attractions. Norway has Fjords, mountains, and midnight sun. Norway is, also, home to about 5.233 million people. Many of these people live on the coast or farther South near Oslo. Oslo is the capital of Norway and is home to about 634,293 people. There are also many other cities here as well. The major cities are Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger, Drammen, Fredrikstad, and Kristiansand. Norway is home to many happy people. In fact, according to a study by the United Nation, Norway is one of the happiest countries in the world! The major ethnic groups of Norway are Norwegian, European, and other. 83.2% of Norway’s population is Norwegian. This percent includes about 60,000 Sami. Europeans hold 8.3% of the country’s population. People of the “other” ethnic group holds 8.5% of the population. Most people that live in Norway have a religion. In fact, about 86% of the country’s population are affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church. This is a state

Before the ice age about 10,000 years ago, Norway was covered by a thick ice sheet. Once this ice was melted, islands formed with lakes, rivers, and mountains. The melting also etched out deep valleys that filled with seawater to form Norway’s Fjords. Norway is one of Europe's Countries with the most mountains. There are elevated plateaus, deep forested valleys, and still a few ice glaciers including, Boknafjord, Geirangerfjord, Hardangerfjord, Molde Forrige, Sognefjord, Trondheimsfjord, and Vestfjord.
