Anyone can be a Hero including Greasers. A hero is a person who helps others with courage and will sacrifice things for others eventually becoming a good role-model. Pony is a hero, he saves others when their might be sacrifices for him. Dally was not a hero, he was not nice to others but to people in his gang he was fine. Johnny was a good person and a hero showing we all can change into heroes.
A group of heros that showed an act of bravery and courage are the firemen and policemen during 9/11 in 2001. The two twin towers were full of smoke and flames, but the firemen job was to get as much people out as possible. They did not know if they were either going to die or live but they did not care because all that mattered was saving as much people as possible. When both of the twin towers fell, many firemen were still in trapped in there and those firemen will always be remembered for the act of their bravery and courage. These group of firemen stood out of the rest because they risked their lives to save people they do not even know, this is a real hero.
When Ralph notices the boys are losing hope of being rescued, to keep the fire going he says, “The fire is the most important thing on the island. How can we ever be rescued except by luck, if we don’t keep a fire going? Is a fire too much for us to make?...We’ve got to make smoke up there-or die”(Golding 80-81). Ralph makes a great point in his opening assembly speech. The fire is the only hope that they have at living a normal life.
Furthermore, Dally Winston demonstrates his heroism when he dies saving Johnny from the burning church. “But I remembered Dally pulling Johnny through the window of the burning church; Dally giving us his gun, although it could mean jail for him; Dally risking his life for us, trying to keep Johnny out of trouble.” (Hinton 154). Loyalty is about how much one is willing to sacrifice for another person. Darry sacrificed his college education, his degree, his future because of his sense
A hero’s purpose is to sacrifice his life while trying to aid others. Beowulf sees this as an opportunity to make himself be known; he believes those who have fought should be remembered through time. Throughout Beowulf’s heroic journey, he fought for a loyal cause, he followed the code of honor, and showed courageous bravery. From time to time, Beowulf always showed that he cared for everyone other than himself. When Beowulf hears that the king needed aid to help defeat grendel, he never second guessed his decision.
Another reason that he is a hero that he left his throne, so he can go and defend his people. According to www.enotes.com he had the qualities of a god and he was very intelligent and even if sometimes he gave up he never stop being a hero to his people. He was always trying to save the people that he liked and never gave up hope. He also never gave up what he believed in he never would call himself a hero even though he knew he was a hero. Odysseus also would never surrender without a fight he would always gave it his best shot, he never gave up and surrendered to his enemies.
In the article, What Makes a Hero, the author says that a hero is “someone who is willing to make a personal sacrifice for the benefit of others”, and in the novel, The Outsiders, Johnny is the main hero of the story. He is a kid whose parents never cared for him, and even went as far as to beat him. He is part of a social gang called the Greasers, and throughout the story you can see that this gang, and the members in it, are Johnny’s real family. The article, What Makes a Hero, is about the idea of what a hero is, and what would make a hero. In The Outsiders, Johnny put others before himself several times, including, when Johnny ran into a burning church in order to save children from the fire and later saved Ponyboy, when Johnny saved Ponyboy’s life from another social group called the Socs, and when Johnny decided that he was going to turn himself into the police for murder, so that Ponyboy didn’t have
I can see it.” (McCarthy 279). The true meaning of trust and carrying the fire has been revealed with these words. The boy, who always tried to help people, is the one who must preserve basic human decency and keep hope alive in a world where none exists. Every moment between the boy and man, every interaction with “bad guys” on the road led to this moment. The trust that the two characters built up of the course of the novel, allows the boy to carry the fire and hopefully salvage the long lost civilized natures of a pre-apocalypse
Lastly, in Rahim Khan’s final note, he states that Baba was a tortured soul, just like Amir himself (put quote here). Amir always idolized his father, doing almost anything for his father’s love and affection. However, in the end, they were always more similar than he ever thought. Amir’s dream of fighting the same bear as his father demonstrates that he has become like his father, who he previously thought that he was nothing like. When he has the dream, it shows that he is strong enough to seek redemption.
When you turn on the nightly news and all you see is the bad in the world, the hurt, and the corruption that has engulfed us as a society, it is nice to see someone do something not because they will get paid or become famous, but because they know its simple the right thing to do. This story fits the concept of a hero most similar to Bernardo’s explaination of a hero. Riggs’ saved his family and risked his life not because thats what people would expect but because he had the responsiblity to take care of them. Just like Bernardo states, he did this “because he loves them and wants to”. Riggs displayed the kind of courage it takes to be a hero.
Because of him being so daring the people of the community will finally know the truth of the outside world and freedom of choice. Pony boy risked his life to save kids that were in a burning church. He also went to fight in a rumble although he was not feeling well, but he knew his friends needed him so he stood by them and stayed loyal to his friends. In conclusion Jonas and Ponyboy are heroes to their community. Comparing these two novels was very fascinating because I didn 't realize until now how much the books are alike.
A tragic hero is somebody who is well-known and of high position with heroic or potentially heroic qualities. A tragic hero, is remarkable, however not impeccable, therefore being possible to relate to as a human being. The hero 's downfall is the result of a fatal flaw in his or her character. Their downfall is the result of free will, not of an accident or insignificant destiny. The hero 's fall is never a complete loss.
People today do not take the risk like he did and it fascinates me to think that even in death he was honored. His nephew did everything he asked and more. Beowulf is not like other heroes. He is not in it for others to look at him and say he is a hero mostly he just wanted to help. He was loved, committed, and fearless.
This book series is about a group of people called travelers and how they save many different territory from their evil enemy Saint Dane. The reasons why he is a hero is because he is quick-thinker, very brave, and has made the biggests sacrifices ever. Uncle Press is a hero because he is a great quick-thinker because in the first book they were being attack by Quigs and uncle press saved them by throwing an explosive clay call Tak. Another time
