Positive Thinking is something I believe in strongly, I’m a person that no matter what’s going on in life, I will always look at the positive aspect of things. I’ve always tried to be a positive person because growing up I didn’t see that much, everyone would always look for something to complain about and wouldn’t ever try to see the light, even in the darkest moments. A couple years back, I was on my phone and I was scrolling through things on the internet and I stumbled on a quote, I don’t remember precisely what the quote said, but it touched me mentally and changed how I reacted to my situations and it taught me that there is always going to be somebody going through something worse than you. Now that I’ve grown up a little, I realized …show more content…
This belief has become a big part of my personality and I show everyday and I try to encourage others to do it also because I know that everyone has their own dilemma and their own issues to deal with so I strongly advise you focus on the great things in life and the things that make you happy, I know that it will help you get out or at least help you cope with what’s going on in your life and help you get through the obstacles in your …show more content…
Until this year I never thought believed that I would ever be able to do well in school and get good grades. This year I became determined to change things and see what i can achieve academically, I started off by looking at my grades from last year, and motivating myself and persuading myself that anything is possible and if I want good grades then I’ll have to work hard and no matter what happens I’ll try my best. This year for me has been the greatest for me overall, my grades and how I think of school has changed drastically, I no longer “despise” school and I actually enjoy waking up every morning to go to school and work hard and learn something new
I believe that no one should be stuck with a bad rollercoaster ride. I believe in being optimistic and making the best out of the worst situations. I believe in making others
My grades dropped, and I fell behind with homework. It wasn’t as if I didn’t notice that my grades were slipping; I did not motivate myself to get the work done. As the semester continued, my grades kept slipping, which is why I made the choice to put in the effort and pull through with my grades. I knew this task was not going to be easy, but I had to make that decision if I wanted to remain at Ignatius. In the beginning of my "academic comeback," it was hard; I wasn’t sleeping right or eating well.
I can do this because when I start feeling sad about something I will think of the previously mentioned saying and remember how good can come from everything.
The power of positive thinking can lead you to success. “Only very dim people, who have clearly failed to grasp the situation we’re in, aren’t depressed,” – Heather Mallick. Positive means with no possibility of doubt and positivity means the quality or state of being positive. Mallick’s article goes into talking about how we spend more time sitting around, mopping about how something didn’t happen or something depressing happened, than we do rejoicing on the things we have and are lucky to have. An Example of this is The Great Depression, even in the middle of destitution then people found ways to be happy.
In middle school I never had good grades I was always the student who did not understand the lesson. During this time I would get so frustrated i would just give up and not even try. From the beginning of 6th grade to the end of 7th I pretty much had all F’s maybe some B’s in my easy classes. My parents were very disappointed in me and i was disappointed in myself. After 7th grade i decided i was gonna switch gears and start really putting my right foot forward and start paying attentions in school and ask for help when I need it.
Freshman year, what an awkward time in my life coming out of middle school with my poor grades I promised myself and my parents I was going to succeed while in high school. Did I though? My grades for sure improved but I still was not putting in as much effort as I should have been. I struggled to be able to communicate with all these new faces and in a completely new school but even outside of school struggled to talk to new people.
This belief has changed my life because it made me work like a dog to get better and play ball. Now I am a college student, college athlete, and the second generation college student in my family. Which is more success than what I expected. Even with this success as an athlete I am stuck in a mile 18 when it comes to school. But thanks to my belief and the article “The road to success is often paved with failure “by Steve Baker, it has showed me that in life and before success there is going to be failure that will slow you down.
I came to America with my mother, brother and sister to achieve the American dream. When I first came here I did not fully understand the extent of challenges and obstacles that my family and I had to face to make our dreams reality. My family has been struggling financially since the first year I came to America, which became my motivation to pursue a higher education. On my last year of high school, financial crisis threatened my family so much that I was ready to drop out of high school to help my single mother cope with the burden of financing the whole family on her own. My brother had finished his high school before me, so he decided to take a year off before going to college to support my family.
I’ve learned that school itself also holds many life lessons in which shape my self-concept. School has made me focused and determined. I’ve set some unrealistic goals, but have seemed to achieve many of them with sheer determination. Guidance from teachers and peers has had a big influence. I’ve been pushed out of my comfort zone and proved to myself that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.
Think of some favorite memories or objects: the first love, favorite pet, favorite foods, or maybe even a good vacation. What do all of these have in common? When recalled, these memories or objects bring a sense of happiness that makes one think fondly of these things. Happiness is an emotion that the human race strives for. As Schoch explains, “Happiness is...
When I think positively, I can achieve greater things, however, having a negative mind-set would handicap me in many ways, obstructing me from achieving my goals. By internalizing this presupposition, I have learnt to always think positively and believe that I can accomplish my goals in
Mindset is a scientific proof that shows both the potential of the brain to grow and change. It is divided into two categories: growth mindset and fixed mindset. Each people have different responds to challenges. There are people who can still stand and fight despite all of the failures. Likewise, there are people who are less resilient and tend to give up easily.
Most people want to improve themselves in some way, whether it is to lose weight or give up smoking or increase their confidence. Self-improvement is something that we carry out over a life time, but it is a task that can require a lot of motivation. Keeping your motivation levels up and steady can be a job in itself. In order to achieve the motivation required for self-improvement, we need to look at the three keys that will help us succeed in our goals. 1) INSPIRATION
When I graduated High School, I was focused and ready for a fresh start at a new University. Unfortunately, just a few weeks prior to my departure for school, unexpected family financial problems arose. Once this happened, I knew I was not going to be able to attend a four year university right away. I decided to move out, and attend a community college. Once school began, I realized it was a completely different environment than where I was supposed to go.
