Happiness Finds You Finding happiness is a journey that many people call life. Being happy is a main goal of our world. Society tries to sell happiness as money, and pleasure, and feeling good all the time. However, it is impossible to control life.
Positive Thinking and Conflict There are many times in one’s life where a simple positive gesture can make their day. Anne, in “The Diary of a Young Girl” by Anne Frank along with Louise Ogawa in “Dear Miss Breed” by Joanne Oppenheim, display attitudes that not only helped themselves, but gave other people hope. Though some might argue that positivity during a conflicting situation won’t help resolve anything, having a positive outlook on a negative situation can help someone solve their disagreement swiftly and efficiently. The best way someone can respond to conflict is with a positive attitude because it can be a stress reliever, give tremendous benefits to their physical health, and make others around them happier.
Over the millions of years our ancestors struggled to survive in an environment filled with dangers and learning quickly from bad experiences was necessary to stay alive. This developed a negativity bias which makes our brain more attentive to bad experiences, react intensely to it, and store it in our neural structure quickly. Hanson writes, “Even when you feel relaxed and happy and connected, your brain keeps scanning for potential dangers, disappointments, and interpersonal issues”(35). Because our brains try so hard to find bad things around us, it is hard for us to take in the small happy experiences we have in our daily lives. To achieve a sense of ease, it is crucial for us to overcome the negativity bias built into our brains.
All this work given to us all at once takes up all our free time and gives us so little time to enjoy ourselves and do the things that make us happy. I believe happiness is something you do to clear your head and relieve stress. Something I like to do to relieve stress and feel happy is listening to music. Listening to music makes me calm and feel at peace. Another thing I have learned to do to relieve my stress is to talk to my friends or watch some tv or something that engages my brain.

Most people believe that they have a good sense of self-awareness, but it would be best to check at a comparative scale to see where you fall on it in contrast with others.
I have always hated writing about myself, and I always dreaded assignments in school where I had to describe myself. I always wanted to avoid doing these assignments because I did not want to sound narcissistic, or self-absorbed. I dislike people like that now, because I used to be one of those people. It took many lessons learned before I humbled myself; I am still learning to humble myself today with recent experiences I have had. Although I hate to write about myself, I have always liked to reflect on myself.
