They turn animals lives back around, taking them from the harsh cold, and putting them in a place where they can live their life in comfort. They offer many programs too, like emergency veterinary care, foster care, pet supplies, humane euthanasia, and pet behavior counseling. The ASPCA has also helped out other shelters, including one that was affected by hurricane Sandy. The organization even provided them with over 40 grants, totaling over $350,000. Workers at this shelter spent at least 72 hours there, prepping before and after the storm in order to keep the animals safe.
Next, the act of hunting itself helps keep animal populations at a manageable number, where the animals aren 't doing damage to other species and people. The final reason is that for many families, mine included, hunting is part of our heritage. When our world faces pollution and animals experience loss of habitat it is detrimental to our way of life and existence. For many hunting is a conservation effort and the best way to protect the country that we live in. Hunters are the ones who notice when the environment and animal populations change.
Although the world has to many different natural disasters, forest fires seems to happen quite often in California. Forest fires are uncontrolled blazes fueled by dry underbrush, wind, and weather. In the matter of seconds. wildfires can burn acres of land and destroy everything in their paths. For a wildfire to burn there needs to be three conditions present, fire fighters call it fuel, oxygen, and a heat sources the “The fire triangle.”
Best Friends help the animals in need who need a shelter and food. As well as helping them find a home by hosting a adoption event. I would like to start off by saying some thank yous to those who made this day possible. To my parents for the much needed love and support To my family and friends and to the people who helped with my eagle project And thank you all for attending my court of honor Over the past 13 years, scouting has taught me a lot of things that will stay with me the rest of my life. It has taught me, don’t use gasoline to start a fire.
Veterinarians are very important in every area. Just think about if your beloved pet got hurt, wouldn’t you want to help them? Vets are the ones who help your pet, and make them feel better. Ever since my cat died I have dreamed of working with animals for my life time. If I got to work with them every day it would be a dream come true.
The purpose of this program is to get single soldiers involved and active within the community. As part of this organization, I was able to participate in many of the volunteer opportunities within the community. For instance, I was able to volunteer at a local elementary school for field day and story time events throughout 2014 before I deployed. Other events afforded me the opportunity to volunteer to feed the homeless during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Once deployed, I quickly signed up as a volunteer for the USO to assist my fellow soldiers with adjusting to their new environment.
In this writing assignment; I will elaborate on how bridging the generation gap in the fire service is important for our fire department’s morale, culture, and well-being. I will share my own personal experiences on why I decided to join the fire service and share what I have learned from my mentors who’ve helped me through my journey so far. I will also reflect on what I have learned and experienced over the past year as a rookie firefighter. I chose this topic for my final writing assignment because I personally feel like I would be able to relate more to the topic since I’ve been exposed to the fire department lifestyle since I was born. Bridging the generation gap in the fire service between the guys who’ve been in for years compared to

California has one of the most severe wildland fire problems in the world. Population, vegetation, topography, and climate all play key roles in the probability of a wildfire occurring. In other words, it’s not a matter of “if” a wildfire will occur, but it’s a matter of “when.” In California, more and more people are choosing to live in communities near wildlands. These wildlands are composed of highly flammable vegetation which can be explosive.
Little America and another fire truck’s engine were old and didn’t Work properly. They had to get really close to the fire and it was scorching hot. My core program is Early Childhood Education. During the most recent live lecture (week 4), you stated we were allowed to present out final project on any current event. I am deeply dedicated to ECE, however, the recent accusations against the Wounded Warrior Project has influenced my decision to choose this subject, over my core program. Being the daughter and wife of career servicemen, I am devoted to the interest of our American Veterans. Both my father and husband were disabled American Veterans, both served during war times and both died too young (58 & 54, respectively), due to service connected disabilities.
These principles are blaming the victim, private troubles, worthy vs. unworthy, residential approach, means test, and values analysis. One huge factor in this policy is that it blames the victims. It is understood that resources are not infinite and with an abundance of fires the funds can be running at extremely low rates but that does not mean that public services should be not be given. Instead of blaming the homeowners for the fires the city or town could accept the fact that climate changes are affecting the world and it is having a negative impact of some areas more than others. This policy is directed toward private troubles because it’s aimed at individual homeowners and not all fires that occur on properties.
