The Space Race was a crucial part in the advancement of technology. The United States of America and the Soviet Union were in a competition to get the first man in space. In 1957, a new era of space exploration had launched, this was known as the Space Race. The Space Race fueled the tension between the Soviet Union and the United States. Both countries were competing to get the first person onto the moon.

Throughout the history of western civilization there have been a vast number of changes that have occurred and wars that have formed civilization today. There have been economic changes, relating to the development of the economy and the financial state of society. There have been political changes, dealing with shifts in government and power. There have been social changes, affecting the organization of society and the interpersonal and international relations. All of these events have influenced society and molded it into what it is today. By looking at three significant events, the Industrial Revolution, The French Revolution, and the Holocaust, the fact that they are the most important economic, political, and social changes in western civilization since 1689 until now will become evident.

In the movie I Robot they're in a future where robots help with everything in day to day life. But one police officer (Will Smith) doesn't trust the robots and thinks they've become too untrustworthy. He soon finds himself to be right. They took over society and started killing humans. But back in the 1960's that thought didn't even cross people's minds. In the 60's technology was affected by The Space race.

Technology. The only use for it is spying on people right? The novel 1984 by George Orwell, takes place in a city called Air Strip One, in the country Oceania. Technology is a major factor throughout the whole novel. The technology has advanced in many ways, however it has also stalled. It has split off from the technology in today’s society in many ways. In “Fahrenheit 451,” Ray Bradbury depicts a society in which artificial intelligence has taken over and left humans emotionless and incapable of functioning without their technology. Throughout the novel Guy Montag, one of the main characters, fights against a society that wants him to conform to the lifestyle controlled by technology. Bradbury illustrates how our society could become similar to that in “Fahrenheit 451” if we go forward with the innovation of artificial intelligence. Even though “Fahrenheit 451” was written in 1951, Bradbury’s concerns about the innovation of AI, shown in his novel, are still valid concerns among scientist and thinkers today. The development of AI, if not slowed down, can become a significant threat to humanity.

The Internet plays a major role in our daily life and has enormous effects and influence on the life of many people worldwide. These days, we cannot imagine the world without an Internet. Furthermore, before the Internet was invented, the life was completely different. I remember as a teenager in the late 1990s, I always like to go out to watch the movies with my friends. At that time, the Internet was not so popular, and not many people had knowledge about the use of the Internet. For that reason, it was always challenging for me to keep track of the movie timings. The Space Race was a competition between the United States and the Soviet Union to see who had better advancements in order to get into space whether it is a dog or a person. The space race started in 1955 and pretty much ended when the United States sent the first man to land on the moon in 1972. Up until that point the Soviet Union was ahead of the United States but when the United States landed a man on the moon it ended the race.
