Common petroleum is used to create plastic, one of the most abundant materials in the world. During the process of making plastic, the petroleum creates environmental pollution. This pollution affects wildlife and contaminates and affects human beings. Some effects of the pollution can be: 1. Environment degradation. 2. Human Health. 3. Global Warming. 4. Ozone layer Depletion. 5. Infertile land. Pollution occurs when pollutants contaminate the natural surroundings, bringing changes which generally affect the normal style lives. Pollution occurs in different ways such as: water, air, soil, radioactive, noise, heat/thermal and light. Every part of pollution has two sources; “the point and the non-point”. The point sources are easily to find. They can be monitored and controlled. The non-point has been very difficult to control or to find. People had thought how to end this problem, so they thought to create bio-plastic. Bio-plastics are made of biodegradable materials such as: raw materials, crops, banana peels and others. Bio-plastics have many advantages. It takes less to break down, they are renewable, it’s good for the environment, they requires less energy to produce it, it´s not toxic and it does not has dependence on foreign oil.
