Age discrimination is illegal at any stage of employment, including job Posting, job description, interview, hiring, salary, job assignment, performance improvement, performance management and evaluation, training, disciplinary action, promotion, demotion, benefits, dismissal ,and layoffs (Susan 2016).

Those who feel safe and trusting others may be less discriminated against than those who don't believe in others. Attitude is often referred to is associated with the tendency of discrimination. Beliefs and attitudes are usually into specific cultural stereotypes, lead to the implicit discrimination (Mossakowski 2003; Adams et al. 2006). The social and cultural background may also affect age discrimination. Eastern European countries, for example, discrimination against the elderly more frequent, the Nordic countries less discrimination (van den 2011). This social and cultural background is an explanation of the great differences between the elderly citizens in European countries in the experience of discrimination (van den 2011).
