People who believe that discrimination occurs frequently also report more frequently that they experience discrimination (Salentin 2007). Those who feel safe and trusting others may be less discriminated against than those who don't believe in others. Attitude is often referred to is associated with the tendency of discrimination. Beliefs and attitudes are usually into specific cultural stereotypes, lead to the implicit discrimination (Mossakowski 2003; Adams et al. 2006). The social and cultural background may also affect age discrimination. Eastern European countries, for example, discrimination against the elderly more frequent, the Nordic countries less discrimination (van den 2011). This social and cultural background is an explanation of the great differences between the elderly citizens in European countries in the experience of discrimination (van den 2011).

I. BACKGROUND The history of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (hereinafter referred to as Title VII) is very intriguing. This southern filibuster ended by the U.S. Congress for the first time in June 1964, while, on July 2, President Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 into law (Arnesen 2007, p. 251). Given this, Title VII, Equal Employment Opportunity, should be considered the most significant part of the whole Civil Rights Act of 1964, because Title VII stimulated visible rise in minority and women group employment.

The enlightenment period, also called the age of reason, was a period between the 17th and 18th centuries in Europe that affected government and equality immensely. Religious, political, social, and economic equality became possible because of the ideas presented by these philosophers. Although the philosophers had variants with their ideas, they all pointed to equality. Documents A, B, C, and D, are perfect examples of how these philosophers had different views on equality. Total equality became possible because the philosophers argued and supported their points.

Family and Medical Leave Act The Family and Medical Leave Act established in 1993 is for working individuals to take unpaid leave for up to twelve weeks in a one-year time period (“The Family,” n.d.). The act grants insurance, wage and job security upon return for specific medical and family obligations. Such circumstances include the delivery of a child, adoption of a child, care for an immediate family member with a severe medical condition, a serious health condition themselves or care for an injured military member.
