The career occupation that best fits my traits and strengths to my liking is a business manager. According to the personality and strengths test we took in class this would be a good fit for me. This job sparks interest to me because I enjoy the idea of leading and being in control. I feel like being a leader and taking charge comes natural to me, so it won 't be something that I would get tired of after a few months . Saying that, I can imagine myself being happy doing this as a career. I would consider this job a direct fit for me according to my VIPSS. The occupation sort assessment led me to pick Business Management and Administration as an occupation. The five skills needed for this job are being able to communicate, reason, manage, work with people and problem solve. My values and interest alone represent these five skills, which leads me to believe that I would have no problem choosing and executing this as a career. I believe I am meant to work in a business occupation because it is always something I enjoyed doing. For example, in high school I took Marketing as a freshman and liked it so much I decided to take Business Foundations the following semester. From then on I knew I had a passion for business! Those classes were the best ones I took in school! Business came naturally to me and that’s why I enjoyed it so much. Being a business manager you can be on call 24/7, depending on the type of business . You are the heart and brain of the business that has to make sure everything is running accordingly. I would imagine I’d have to be the first one in and last one out on a typical work day, but that’s okay because I’m willing to put myself through that if that’s what will bring me success. I know becoming a manager of anything isn’t easy and it 's not going to come right away. Being a manager you have to expect to manage. Such as making schedules, managing employee hours, hire and fire employees and managing the business overall. I understand there will be conflicts within the workforce that need to be handled although with patience and being open to both sides it should be taken care of. From my understanding, being a manager requires a lot of commitment and dedication to keep a business going. Eventually the business will become your second home and life. I know there 's a lot of aspects in business and can lead to stress an overwhelming yourself, but if you can manage your time, personal life and work life properly things should be fine. To sum up, I believe that this occupation is truly meant for me. Everything I look for in a job fits in with being a business manager.
