Why Is It Good To Be Global Citizen? We live in the world that consist of many people from different countries, ethnics, religions, economics condition, and even political beliefs. According to the Worldometer, there are at least 7.4 billion people in this world. Unfortunately, nearly 1/2 of the world's population — more than 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day. More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty — less than $1.25 a day. 1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty. According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty. Because of that condition many countries and organisations are trying to help them. AIESEC, one of the non-political, independent, and not-for-profit organisation, open the recruitment for people especially age 18-30 to volunteer theirself to help people in the developing country. It will change how you see the world. You will see the world not the world which consist of many countries with different ethnics, skin color, the length of hair, etc. But as the whole family who need each other to survive. Also it will change the way you think and act. For example you will not become a selfish person anymore, just thinking the profit to yourself because you know outside there, there are a lot of people that really need food and water just to keep alive. Not only your personality that will change but also you will gain experience to shape you for years to come you will learn how to help communities grow and trade their way out of poverty by supporting skills development and planning / capacity-bulding or you will learn to work with local communities to improve sanitation and health to reduce disease and increase food production. Ultimately, her actions demonstrate why I believe that Dumas is accurately described as a global citizen. In contrast, I do not yet describe myself as a global citizen. According to the dictionary, the definition of Americanism is a custom, trait, belief, etc., peculiar to the United States of America or its citizens. In 1776 when the United States was established and we declared independence from Britain, we got many rights and freedoms. Those rights and freedoms are still very important today to making Americans who they are and what they believe. To be an American to me is not about your ethnicity, religion, or language you speak.
The definition of Citizenship has now been a citizen who is fully recognised by a state as being a member of the state. They have a legal status within a state, certain rights, and they are expected to perform duties. Citizenship has changed over time because you have to be born in the United States to be gain it. You gain the rights to vote in the U.S.. Which means that you since you born in the U.S. you can vote while people who were not born in the U.S. cannot vote.
In the current political environment, the question “What does it mean to be an American” is one that really caused me to think and reflect deeply. And while some are vowing to “Make America Great Again”, I think there are already a number of things that already make America great and make me proud to be an American. Early on, our founding fathers suggested through the Constitution that at its core, what it meant to be American was simply “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

Food Insecurity The continuous increasing demand for the food requires the rapid improvement in food production technology. In a country like Ethiopia, the economy is mainly based on agriculture and the climate conditions are isotropic, still we are not able to make full usage of agricultural resources. The main reason is the lack of rains and scarcity of the land reservoir water in some areas of the country.
There are many issues regarding the welfare of children from all over the world. Children have been repeatedly impacted by wars and conflicts in their countries. Moreover, many children from some areas do not have access to their rights such as education and health and have to suffer from discrimination, violence, abuse and sexual and economic exploitation. After the World War II, Children from all over Europe had to suffer the aftermath of the war. This is when the United Nations stepped in and created United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, or as today’s shorter term, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in December 1946 with the sole purpose to lessen the suffering by providing foods, clothing and health care.
The Ted-Talk, “What It Means to be a Citizen of the World” given by Hugh Evans was seemingly directed towards those individuals who “self identify first” as a “member of a state, nation, or tribe” and therefore are focused solely on the improvement of their closed-community rather than the improvement of the entire “human race”. Therefore, centering his audience at those individuals who remain outside the lines of being a global citizen. The main idea that Hugh draws up throughout his speech is the impact that the actions of a single individual; no matter how small, can have when one acts with the purpose of combating “extreme poverty, climate change, and inequality” on a global scale rather than a local one. In order to do so, Hugh introduces the stories of a few individuals who have been able to impact people that are “not [themselves], not in [their] neighborhood, [their] state, or even in [their] country” and along the way reveals his own journey to becoming a global citizen.
