Why Is It Good To Be Global Citizen? We live in the world that consist of many people from different countries, ethnics, religions, economics condition, and even political beliefs. According to the Worldometer, there are at least 7.4 billion people in this world. Unfortunately, nearly 1/2 of the world's population — more than 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day. More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty — less than $1.25 a day. 1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty. According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty. Because of that condition many countries and organisations are trying to help them. AIESEC, one of the non-political, independent, and not-for-profit organisation, open the recruitment for people especially age 18-30 to volunteer theirself to help people in the developing country. It will change how you see the world. You will see the world not the world which consist of many countries with different ethnics, skin color, the length of hair, etc. But as the whole family who need each other to survive. Also it will change the way you think and act. For example you will not become a selfish person anymore, just thinking the profit to yourself because you know outside there, there are a lot of people that really need food and water just to keep alive. Not only your personality that will change but also you will gain experience to shape you for years to come you will learn how to help communities grow and trade their way out of poverty by supporting skills development and planning / capacity-bulding or you will learn to work with local communities to improve sanitation and health to reduce disease and increase food production.
