The concern towards human welfare has created the needs for a rapid, continuous, no invasive sensor arrangement of essential signs. Particularly non-invasive and non-restraining frameworks are required, since they could monitor health status over a long period. Pressure sensor & Heart beat sensors are used to measure the vital signs[2].
1.1 INTRODUCTION
Blood pressure measurement is actually the force of blood against the walls of arteries. Blood pressure is shown as 2 numbers the systolic pressure (as the heart pulsates) over the diastolic pressure (as the heart relaxes between heart beats). The measurement is expressed one above the other, with the systolic value on top and the diastolic value on the bottom. For instance, a BP measurement

This method involves mercury manometer, sleeve cuff, air pump which makes patient to feel uncomfortable. Hence it is needed to make use of new technologies in BP measurement[2]. Doctors are also facing some problems while measuring the BP readings like unable to hear the perfect thumping sound or Korotkoff sound while the process of air pumping is carried out[4]. To avoid this risk of stethoscope hearing, different kinds of sensors are been used for the measurement. Along with the BP sensor, Heartbeat sensor and temperature sensors are also used to measure the pulse rate and body temperature of the patient respectively. Using the sensors in BP measurement reduces the risk for the doctors and time required for the actual BP …show more content…
This equipment presently is in place at most hospitals and drug stores. To simplify and improve the procedure even more, an “athome” solid-state blood pressure monitor is currently available[3]. This pattern toward smaller, more compact medical equipment has resulted in the requirement of smaller devices to control system.
1.3 AIM OF THE PROJECT
The aim of this proposed system is to design a Blood pressure monitoring system which can classify the BP values and Predict the BP effects based on the previous Blood pressure values using the Bayes’ theorem algorithm and define the classes. Then the BP values are sent to the server through GPRS.
1.4 OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
1. To collect the blood pressure and Pulse rate readings from The BP and heartbeat sensor incorporated in the module.
2. From the temperature sensor, patient’s body temperature readings are collected.
3. Converting the Analog signals from sensors to digital values using ADC.
4. The digital BP, pulse rate and body temperature readings are displayed on LCD
. Here is where I come in; graduating in 1998 from the title of a Medical Assistant II to State Certified, nurse and HHA nurse of 19 years. I have had the chance to operate multiple machines from the EKG heart monitor on down to the blood pressure cuff. However, people have been using devices in their homes for many years’ due to disorder like cardiovascular, respiratory, oral, gastrointestinal, and amputee’s have the independent security of using devices in their home.
Understanding respiratory volumes, capacities, and measurements will help me perform my job as a medical assistant because they are significant being a medical assistant. First of all, when the patient is on the bed, I will measure the respiratory rate while he/she is at relaxation. In the next, I will observe the rise and fall of the victim 's chest and count the number of respirations for one full minute. Then, I will record the current time, respiratory rate and respiratory characteristics. Spirometry is used diagnose conditions that affect breathing such as asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, and cystic fibrosis.
Week 5 Discussion thread Week 5 Discussion Question What are the reasons for establishing a personal health record? To keep a record of all healthcare that is created by a medical provider.
Staples & Earle (2008) used a phenomenology research design, where they used a convenience sample of CHF patients to determine effective technologies for monitoring patients with heart failure admissions and mortality. The effectiveness of CHF patients through the use of telephonic assessments and interventions was implemented. Congestive Heart Failure study participants (n=591) were managed by a team of registered nurses and nurse practitioners. Data was collected using a telephone log and appropriate medical protocols were provided. Data was analyzed; determining frequency of calls, level of care required and scope of practice needed to ensure proper care of the patients.
In “Exploring the Managed Heart,” Hochschild observes that modern day labor has developed into occupations that require not only physical labor, but also emotional labor. Emotional labor as a method of profit maximization not only makes the worker’s obligations more ambiguous and more demanding, but also makes workers more susceptible to experience emotional distress. The author argues that the majority labor in the workforce evolved from involving purely physical labor to requiring more, such as emotional labor. Hochschild defines emotional labor as ‘the management of feeling to create a publicly observable facial and bodily display.’
1) In what kind of society/culture was the object produced? Is it a monotheistic or polytheistic society? What type of government does the society have? The Sphinx was made in the Ancient Egyptian society, originally carved in the Middle Kingdom around 1938-1213 BCE.
A kymograph is a device used for recording variations in pressure such as in sound waves, blood pressure and etc. by the trace
The medical examiner must first establish the location of the heart murmur, The stethoscope must be placed only at the apex or chest wall, may even sometimes on the left sternal border. Timing is the next step, using the heart beats they must first determine if it is a systole or diastole murmur. Then must ask themselves if their is a delay or at the same time. The third step in the diagnosing process is the intensity of the murmur. Heart murmurs are graded on a scale to I to VI (very faint with stethoscope to without using a stethoscope at all).
These are all basic and OBVIOUS ways of continuously gathering sound data. 3. Why are the ideas better than the state of art? The idea behind the Bodyscope acoustic device is that a single sensor would collect a number of data with great success while the state of the art ones can only monitor a few activities at a time.
If any thing had change like medication information. After Linda assign me to record a vital sign. I had prioritizing patient an 83-year-old male that had breathing problem, coronary artery disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia. I realized why he need urgent than other patient. The patient was a great deal of pain also his vital sign was not
In this regard, cardiovascular response to exercise occurs with changes in heart rate, cardiac output, stroke volume, peripheral vascular resistance and blood pressure/arterial pressure,
The desired outcome will be having the patient with clear lung sounds, edema free and denies dyspnea on exertion. To achieve these outcomes we need to monitor body weight daily, ? changes in bodyweight reflect changes in body fluid volume? (Methney, 2010). Mean time we need to monitor extension and location of edema?
Introduction This essay will reflect on my personal experience, skills, and knowledge gained from my studies and practice of undertaking blood pressure (Bp) whilst completing my professional placement. Bp may be defined as a force of blood against vessel walls in the body, consisting of systolic and diastolic pressure measured in millimeters of mercury. (Waugh and Grant, 2016) Systolic pressure occurs when the hearts left ventricle contracts and forces blood into the aorta causing a heightened atrial pressure, while diastolic pressure refers to complete cardiac diastole, this is when the aortic valve closes and pressure is at its lowest between beats, blood moves into smaller corresponding vessels and the heart rests.
• • The apple watch has popularised the market of smartwatches which is something companies like Samsung could not do. This is due to the clever marketing strategies of apple, and in turn gives them an upper hand in the smartwatch market as they are the centre of attention. • Apple can use its advantages in the smart watches in order to shift towards a new market of bio-technological gadgets. The development of the bio-sensors in the apple watch could provide a gateway for development into another market. Weaknesses
3. A typical respirometer was set up as follows: • A vial fitted with a stopper with a hole was taken. • A pipette was taken and inserted through the stopper so that it’s wide end is in the vial. • A wad of cotton soaked in 15% KOH is placed in the vial.
