FOREWORD
First and foremost we wish to thank the teachers and in particular the students for their tremendous support. The schools involved are as follows: Koorona Primary School, East Waikiki Primary School, Medina Primary School, Baldivis Primary School, Falcon Primary School, Warnbro Community High School and Iona Convent School. In preparation for putting the colouring–in-book together we have asked the schools mentioned to participate with the knowledge that it was a test for us and not for them. Most boomerangs were used throe at an enemy or prey. There are many styles of boomerangs. These were used in competition by tribes. The returning boomerang is now used competition throughout the world.

FISH (DJILDJIT)

Fishes are source of food for the Aboriginal people. They know when to hunt food by the changing of season. They used canoes, nets, fish hook and certain shrubs that they ground up. This shrub when put in the water would stun the fish. They will float to the surface where the Aboriginal people could get them. Fish hooks were made out of animal bones. The Aboriginal people also used clubs and spears to catch the fish. Fish traps were also made of rocks.

DINGO

Wild Dingo pups were taken from their mothers and were raised by the Aboriginal people, they were trained as hunters. They were used to catch kangaroos, emus, wallabies and were especially helpful in catching the smaller animals and reptiles. The dingoes would “bail up” the larger animals until the Aboriginal hunters arrived to spear them. Together the Aboriginal man and the dingo were great hunters.
