Campus fears are intensifying. These days the world hears about a shooting each and everyday. It has got ten times crueler over the past couple of years. It’s time schools get more secure for when these types of things happen and that’s just what USI has been speaking about recently. They are proceeding at universities even elementary schools. These shootings are getting out of hand every second of the day and are making people in the world panic for their lives. Something needs to be done to help these shootings go down drastically. The University of Southern Indiana offers so much when it comes to safety. The Public Safety office maintains 24 hours, seven days a week coverage of the campus (USI Public Safety). The article stated that USI is the only public four-year university in Indiana that does not have armed officers on campus (USI Shield par 3). Frequently teachers keep their classroom doors open but normally they should be closed at all times and locked. It’s a lot safer for teachers and professors to keep their door locked and closed at all times during the day and while classes are in session.
