Changing America
Businesses should be required to offer wellness incentives to employees. Americans need to focus on heather habits. Wellness incentives in businesses would be a step in the right direction to help us become a stronger nation. Over the last decade the world has seen a climb in obesity, causing non communicable diseases. Adults should be an example to our children but due to the prevalence of food and sedentary life style it can be hard to be healthy with temptation all around us. As adults we spend a large amount of time at work making it hard to fit in exercise and find time to cook healthy meals. Taking small steps to encourage healthy habits will help change society to start seeing health as a fundamental aspect to our culture. Pear pressure can be very persuasive, however small businesses may be the ones who feel they have to pay a steep cost at improving Americans health.

Department of labor (2014) Smaller companies should not dismiss the requirement of having a plan in place. Healthy employees may pay off in the long run and if the government is offering help why not take them up on it. Deciding on a program is no small task but there are several options for help, the center for Diseases Control, Local Small Business development centers, and your health care provider. Caron Beesley (2012) my mother works for a small business most employees at the company are overweight, stressed and work sick. If her employer were to implement a wellness program they would see a significant change to their company. Wellnesses programs are definitely not a quick fix however it may help struggling business succeed. Getting employees to participate may be a challenge. Brick J.
