Cheating is a substantial problem in the education system across America, but not many people realize the necessary measures we must all accomplish for the sake of America’s future. 95% of students claimed to have participated in any form of cheating, whether it was on a test, plagiarism, or copying homework. Cheating has become an ever present problem in high school and college students across America as students are finding it easier to cheat while disregarding the effects it has on themselves in addition to the punishments they may face due to their actions. Students cheat for a variety of reasons. It can be an intentionally calculated decision in order to prosper, repeatedly motivated by the path to success they see around them. Chip, a college student, intentionally purchased a ready-made essay online in order to turn in for a class assignment, due to procrastination of having not yet completed the assignment up to his standards. Today, around 75% to 98% of college students who have been surveyed openly admit to cheating presently as well as when they were in high school. Students have opportunities to be able to learn, and succeed, however they choose to take the easy way out which is to cheat. Being able to copy and paste is easier, as it requires little effort, and the payoff is great if you don’t get caught of course. Although the motivation to cheat may be up to the student’s ethical standards, it may just be the failure of the education system which places its importance on grades rather than the true significance of the learning process in
