Chris Thompson is the best small running back in the NFL because he’s bounced back from some major injuries, he currently has no broken records, and every season he played they raised his salary to a million dollars or more. Chris Thompson was born October 1990. He is 27 years young, weighing 195 pounds at 5 feet and 8 inches. Chris Thompson was born in California but raised in Greenville and at a young age, he wanted to play football. He was asked what he wanted to be at the age of six, he told his stepdad he was going to be in the NFL playing football. The two injuries he faced in college were a broken back and a torn ACL in his left knee. His coach Jimbo Fisher said he was lucky it did not paralyze him, which had them in relief. This injury was disheartening for Chris Thompson, he broke his back while in a loss to Wake Forest. Unfortunately, he missed the final eight games of the season and did nine months of rehab, also called physical therapy. Later on, he came back and became the team’s top rusher. Also when he ran the ball in college, he’d average 7.55 yards per attempt, which was outstanding in many people's points of view because that’s almost running for a first down every play. In week ten the Washington Redskins and New Orlean Saints were facing off and in the third quarter, Washington was up four. While Kirk Cousins the quarterback for Washington tried to find a receiver but wasn't able to so he attempted to run for the first down when Chris Thompson attempted to throw a block for Kirk Cousins when they got into a scramble and defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins rolled on Chris Thompson's right leg and broke it.
