The country of Cambodia faces a grave issue regarding Climate change and the global economy. According to world bank data for the past 16 years, the level of CO2 emissions measured in metric tons per capita have been growing exponentially since the year of 2002. In 2002 the level of carbon emission was.175 and in as recent as 2014 has risen to .438. The continuing rise of carbon emission continues to have extremely harmful effects on not only the environment but the global economy as a whole. The rise of carbon emissions causes temperatures rises adding to the current crisis of global warming which threatens the economic prosperity of Cambodia. Cambodia relies heavily on their production of rice and fish and due to the increase in temperatures these sources of production are threatened and …show more content…
Basic education curriculum is divided into three cycles of three years each.”(Bookbridge Foundation) The Cambodian government can establish a state law in which private sectors must implement a section in their curriculum to teach the children in the importance of climate change and how it can negatively affect the progress of the nation. Through focusing on educating the youth on these prevalent issues Cambodia will as a nation and the next generation be focused on the issue of climate and change and will actively become involved in trying to solve these issues. In addition the increased education of the youth on the topic of climate change in Cambodia can help to advance the nation as whole by cultivating a new generation of innovative thinkers who can provide the nation with the advancements they need to evolve from one the world’s least developed countries having to rely on larger more developed countries to an independent nation that can add to the competition of the global market and help contribute more to the global
DeekshithKumar Thadishetti Professor mankerian LS 690 July 31 2015 Climate change is one of the global issue that requires multiperspective approach. One of the key cause of climate change is air pollution. Air pollution occurs as a result of release of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. There are two key sources of air pollution that should be targeted if the air pollution is to be reduced. The first source is the industrial stationay sources, which include electric power facilities.
People may know about climate change and the drastic changes it is having on the environment, but what they may not be aware of is that another degree increase in the world’s average temperature will cause even bigger problems for people all over. Climate change is long term shifts in temperature and patterns in the weather. Greenhouse gasses, gasses that trap heat in the atmosphere causing it to warm up are at an all-time high due to humans and the amount of fossil fuels we use. The most crucial result of climate change is global health, but animal endangerment and the rise in sea levels are also very important effects.
Imagine if all of Florida disappeared under the water. Millions of people would need to migrate up to other states, likely causing population issues in some places, and the culprit of the disappearance: Humans. More specifically, climate change caused by humans. Climate change is caused by greenhouse gas emissions, and that makes the atmosphere trap heat from the sun in our atmosphere. This causes the global temperature to slowly increase.
Annotated Bibliography: How Climate Change Is Affecting Our Planet Controversy statement: Climate change is been debated for over centuries now. People all around the world are taking action and reducing burning fossils to minimize the gasses in the atmosphere. Many people believe that climate change doesn't exists. But there are a lot of controversial topics that proves that climate change is real. In my opinion, climate change is slowly killing us and destroying our planet.
According to research, education has been a key factor for improving people’s quality of life (Guijarro-Garfield et al., 2022). Many people can now pursue dream goals in life. More people are also contributing to the growth of America by becoming scientists and developing much needed new technology. Even though the NDEA has already helped education tremendously, many new improvements are still to come. In addition, amongst other targets, the Sustainable Development Goal seeks to ensure that every child completes free primary education by the year 2030 (Guijarro-Garfield et al., 2022).
Corn has become abundant. The use synthetic nitrogen fertilizer is a contribution to the global warming due to the farming and this also pollutes the water for the
The Earth is melting, and people need to help. Climate change is a regular thing that happens on Earth, but recently, it has changed drastically. " Since 1880, Earth’s average temperature has increased by about 0.8 degrees Celsius. (BGE) This may not seem like much, but scientists are worried.
The Cambodian Genocide is considered to be one of the worst human tragedies in the last century. The Genocide in Cambodia should be more recognized around the world for its severity and intensity. Khmer Rouge, a communist group led by Pol Pot, seized control of the Cambodian government from Lon Nol in April of 1975. He then renamed it the Democratic Kampuchea.
Climate change is an irreversible consequence of the damage we do to our Earth. If we do not change our ways, the global temperature will swell, causing an unchangeable series of events, consecrating detriments onto all the existence upon Earth. In only about 140 years, the average global temperature has increased 0.8 degrees celsius, and the ramification is the irreparable destruction of the place where we and millions of other species live. The most important consequence of climate change is the global increase in temperature and how that is affecting various animal species all over the Earth, the health of humans, and the rapid rise of sea level.
Literature Review: Theoretical Approaches, Empirical Studies, Analytical Concepts and Legal Frameworks Theoretical Approaches towards food security With respect to the theoretical approaches to food security, there are three theories developed in 1970s and 1980s as cause to food insecurity. The first one is Climate theory; this theory explains food insecurity as caused by climatic phenomena. Cox, related this theory with the concept of “famine belt” in which he directly links climate condition to food insecurity. This theory argued that in the national or local level, climate linked phenomena such as drought, floods and others are a major factor causing food insecurity (Cox, 1981, cited in Steven Engler,
Climate change is the most rising issue of the modern world that is threatening our planet from the last few decades. In the simplest definition, the term climate change refers to the rising of the planet’s temperature, particularly an increase in the average atmospheric temperature. It should be noted that in the last few decades, many scientists and ecologists has discovered the Earth temperature is increasing at an alarming rate and has affected the planet in numerous of way. The constant change in the climate due to various causes is threatening the preservation of the Earth and its human life. It should be noted that the climate change is linked with several of the human activities that are further directed towards the global warming.
The Industrial Revolution in the 1900s was a time of substantial transformation throughout society. Not only did countries become greatly dependent upon one another, but it has also influenced people’s lifestyles and the global economy. The effects of this are still relevant today. Of course this has brought many benefits, but resulting factors such as urbanization and the hunger for industrial and global economic growth has led to many problems, not the least of which is climate change.
In today’s day and age, climate change is becoming a hot topic. Whether one is an advocate for change or is just skeptical of the entire belief, there is no doubt that this concept is relevant to the modern society. In an article by Robert J. Antonio titled, “Climate Change and Society by John Urry," he evaluates the research of scientist and breaks down the complexities of climate change for the audience. In a separate article by Ashokankur Datta and E. Somanathan titled, “Climate Policy and Innovation in the Absence of Commitment”, the authors evaluate policies concerning the pricing of adapting to more emission-free, healthier technology for the environment. These two articles will be compared and contrasted based on reasons why the public
Researches show that the average temperature of the planet has been changed during the last decades, as a result, many problems join with it and climate change is considered as the biggest problem around the world. Climate change is one of the results of global warming and it has so many negative disadvantage impacts on earth, including; increasing the events of natural
