Climate change is considered to be one of the biggest threats facing nature and humanity today. It is an undeniable and pervasive crisis that affects every aspect of our lives and future. As the planet heats, climate patterns change and it’ll mean more extreme and unpredictable weather across the world. Many places will be hotter, some wetter, others drier. Of course, Malaysia is not excluded from this problem.
In today’s world, there are several phenomena occurring around the globe that serve as physical evidence of climate change. Ten hottest years ever recorded all took place since 1998, with the hottest one of all being 2010, where Earths average surface temperature has increased by more than 1.4 ⁰F over the past 100 years. In addition, plants and animals also having the impacts from the climate change, where they move to different latitudes or higher altitudes due to change in temperature. Besides that, experts noted that the oceans are absorbing the sun’s heat in an increasing rate. As NASA explored, the oceans have absorbed much of this increased heat, with the top 700 m of ocean showing warming of 0.302 ⁰F since 1969.

Besides, Malaysia has a Low Carbon Cities Framework (LCCF) and Assessment System. It is a city that comprises of societies that consume sustainable green technology, green practices and emit relatively low carbon or green house gases (GHGs) as compared with present day practice to avoid the adverse impacts on climate change. Therefore, Malaysia does adopt and embed principles of sustainable development to contribute minimally to climate change by focusing on urban environment, urban transport, urban infrastructure and building. Therefore, the government is encouraging more clean vehicles onto the roads and supporting public transport that designed to reduce carbon emissions. Also, we can use low-energy consumption bulb and practise car-pooling to reduce the carbon emissions as well as traffic congestion especially in dense
There are many invasive species that are affecting the Everglades by invading the ecosystem. Many of these species were brought to the everglades by people and animals. They are changing the ecosystem and are competing with natural native inhabitants of that area. The native species have to adapt to the change or move to another area to survive. Both plant and animal species have invaded the area within the Everglades.
DeekshithKumar Thadishetti Professor mankerian LS 690 July 31 2015 Climate change is one of the global issue that requires multiperspective approach. One of the key cause of climate change is air pollution. Air pollution occurs as a result of release of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. There are two key sources of air pollution that should be targeted if the air pollution is to be reduced. The first source is the industrial stationay sources, which include electric power facilities.
People may know about climate change and the drastic changes it is having on the environment, but what they may not be aware of is that another degree increase in the world’s average temperature will cause even bigger problems for people all over. Climate change is long term shifts in temperature and patterns in the weather. Greenhouse gasses, gasses that trap heat in the atmosphere causing it to warm up are at an all-time high due to humans and the amount of fossil fuels we use. The most crucial result of climate change is global health, but animal endangerment and the rise in sea levels are also very important effects.
Imagine if all of Florida disappeared under the water. Millions of people would need to migrate up to other states, likely causing population issues in some places, and the culprit of the disappearance: Humans. More specifically, climate change caused by humans. Climate change is caused by greenhouse gas emissions, and that makes the atmosphere trap heat from the sun in our atmosphere. This causes the global temperature to slowly increase.
One of the first solutions is the governments should create measures, such as make streetcar that is an energy saving and promote other transit systems, like bicycles or eco-friendly electric cars. In fact, the train and the streetcar are the most eco-friendly vehicles, because these produced lower CO2 emissions than cars and air plane. In Europe, twenty cities in 11countries are using these eco-friendly vehicles. Therefore, European people are actively working on decrease the environmental problems. If Hawaiian people use these eco-friendly vehicles, people will be stress reliever of the traffic congestion as well.
The Earth is melting, and people need to help. Climate change is a regular thing that happens on Earth, but recently, it has changed drastically. " Since 1880, Earth’s average temperature has increased by about 0.8 degrees Celsius. (BGE) This may not seem like much, but scientists are worried.
Climate change is an irreversible consequence of the damage we do to our Earth. If we do not change our ways, the global temperature will swell, causing an unchangeable series of events, consecrating detriments onto all the existence upon Earth. In only about 140 years, the average global temperature has increased 0.8 degrees celsius, and the ramification is the irreparable destruction of the place where we and millions of other species live. The most important consequence of climate change is the global increase in temperature and how that is affecting various animal species all over the Earth, the health of humans, and the rapid rise of sea level.
Climate change is believed to be the biggest issue facing the Earth. It is a long-term change in the Earth’s temperatures and climate (“Climate Change”, Dictionary.com). Our atmosphere is part of the reason why we can live on Earth with reasonable temperatures. Humans have been emitting unnatural greenhouse gases, like coal, oil, and gas. This is changing the natural systems that take place in our atmosphere.
Polar bears were the biggest and most feared predator in the North Atlantic, until recently. This paper will explain what is happening to the polar bears due to the melting ice caps, what the result of this is and how that is going to change the entire region. It will focus on primarily three factors; climate change and CO2 production, the invasion of killer whales (Orcinus Orca), and how the invasion into the north will effect human civilizations. Introduction The world’s climate is changing rapidly.
Global warming is all about adverse climate change caused by the trapping of greenhouse gases in the earth's atmosphere that affects biodiversity and poses a serious health hazard. Scientists have found strong evidence that human activities have caused most of the warming since the mid-1900 (“global warming”). Humans are responsible for
Climate change is the most rising issue of the modern world that is threatening our planet from the last few decades. In the simplest definition, the term climate change refers to the rising of the planet’s temperature, particularly an increase in the average atmospheric temperature. It should be noted that in the last few decades, many scientists and ecologists has discovered the Earth temperature is increasing at an alarming rate and has affected the planet in numerous of way. The constant change in the climate due to various causes is threatening the preservation of the Earth and its human life. It should be noted that the climate change is linked with several of the human activities that are further directed towards the global warming.
2.8 Main Cause of Flood According to Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia (2012), issues of flood that happen certainly had their own causes. There are many causes such as: 2.8.1 Continuous Rain Continuous rain without stopping can cause flooding. In low areas, rain water will flow into the river. River filled with water will overflow causing lowland area are flooded.
Throughout history Earth`s climate has changed a lot, and there is a lot of evidence that shows how humans have contributed to this changed and effected the Earth. Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advances, the increase in the thickness and area of a glacier. As well as glacial retreats, a condition occurring when backward melting at the front of a glacier takes place at a rate exceeding forward motion. Most climate changes are attributed to very small variations in the earth`s orbit, that change the amount of solar energy our planet receives. The 21st century has seen the most temperature records broken in recorded history.
Researches show that the average temperature of the planet has been changed during the last decades, as a result, many problems join with it and climate change is considered as the biggest problem around the world. Climate change is one of the results of global warming and it has so many negative disadvantage impacts on earth, including; increasing the events of natural
Global climate change constitutes arguably the single most important threat to mankind. From the onset of the industrial revolution, greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), including carbon dioxide (CO2) have increasingly built up in the atmosphere, causing the climate to warm up slowly but steadily (IPCC, 2014). NASA predicts that 2016 will mark the hottest year on record. The effects of global warming are ubiquitous: Greenland’s glacier and the Arctic ice cap are melting, ocean levels are rising, occurrences of extreme weather are increasing, including hurricanes and areas of either intense drought or flooding. Collectively, these changes and their direct consequences are an imminent danger and they directly affect other urgent issues humanity is
