Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. To begin with, there are multiple organizations in America that value the health and exposure of dangerous chemicals among citizens. Secondly, companies remove unsafe products and hazardous materials to prevent accidents in work, schools, houses and many other public places. Lastly protection to workers and families is the reason in which organizations such as the CPSC, FDA, AMS and RMS are still up to this date. These agencies share similar interests and differences in promoting a healthy environment. First the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of injuries or death associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products under the agency’s jurisdiction (n.d.).
