However, I am aware that the beginning of effective leadership would be by developing a vision of the organization where a nurse leader serves. Coming up with a picture of what would be a future of excellence in delivering nursing care in the organization would be crucial in motivating and raising commitment among the other nurses. As a nurse leader, the vision that I would hold dear would be to ensure I have the capacity to make sure that the systems in place benefit individual needs of the patients in a manner that patients are always handled with respect and dignity while the work that nurses perform is respected and valued. For this to be met, there is a need for the nurse leader to assist the other nurses grasp the envisioned picture and remaining at the forefront in directing the others on where to go. Subsequently, I would want to be the kind of a nurse leader who can enable the staff to grasp the vision, to make sure the appropriate people assume the nursing roles and to model the behaviors that are desired of the other
If you don’t have the opportunity to travel over the summer just know that you’ll have an array of opportunities in the future. Even if you don’t get chances to travel through your family, there are still opportunities to travel. Just ask your local church. Perhaps they are planning on going on a short term Mission trip?
Taking my career choice into consideration was key in my decision which for most people is a long, difficult, and tedious process. The university I will be attending next fall is Washington University in St. Louis. I immediately fell in love with the school as a result of the academic programs, its community, and the classic Midwestern hospitality that I have gotten used to after having lived most of my life in Nebraska. I believe that this university specifically will help me achieve my goal of eventually becoming a neurosurgeon and making a difference in medicine and the world. My talents will be best served and exemplified at a university of this nature and will push me to go for the stars and accomplish my
Knowing this aspect, I would aspire to work at a Christian institution at the Division II, III, or NAIA level. Of course, there are a few Division I schools that would be incredibly difficult to not pursue opportunities at those institutions. If I am lucky enough to find a school and position that I am happy at, I would rather stay at that school instead of job hopping just to move up the career ladder. The opportunity of creating and planning events to improve the experience of student athletes is a huge draw to a career in event management for me.
I will do my school work as soon as it is assigned and study for tests in advance so that I can spend more time with my family. If I go away to college, I will make trips on weekends and holidays to visit for as long as my can. I will cherish the time I have with my family and take advantage of my time off to visit
When a conflict arises between the client and me, as a Marriage and Family therapist will be directed to the mission and core values as a tool in making a decision. I will contribute to improve the service of the client within the context of the job. When providing services, I may need to explore the role of the person in detail. For example, the religion, sexual orientation, age, and any future results. Always focusing in the client: needs, healing process, and empowerment.
Cultural competence in Health Care According to ….. REF…. is an approach to learning, communicating, providing care and working respectfully with others, who may look or think differently or have a unique set of experiences that shape their beliefs and values. Culture and language can influence the perception of health and wellness; different belief system often shape the behaviours of patients and their attitudes toward health care providers. Nurses need to have deeper understanding of cultural diversity to provide patient centered care. Community, language, religion, and cultural perceptions of health and wellness are all matters of importance that need to be understood by the nurses when working with culturally diverse patients (Daniels,
Subsequently, they must design strategies for establishing, expanding, and cultivating future nurses with matching passion, skills, and understanding. Likewise, they must serve as a role model for advancing nursing education, create a mutual environment with others, promote a safe environment, and maintain credibility as a nurse faculty (Patterson & Krouse, 2015). For nurses to thrive tomorrow, they must emulate the traits of a leader today and mold others with those same values and qualities. “Rejoice in your work; never lose sight of the nursing leader you are now and the nursing leader you will become" (Sue Fitzsimons). References Fater, K. H., Weatherford, B., Ready, R. W., Finn, K., & Tangney, B. (2014).
I am somewhat concerned about the amount of debt I will incur and would like to keep that to a minimum. So I need to find other sources of revenue such as scholarships to assist me with my share of the financial commitment. I also plan on working on campus during my time at college but would like to keep the number of hours reasonable so I can
Dear Scholarship committee of Saint Paul College: If you could save a childs life by directly making that child feel welcomed, loved, and cared for with intent to cure or make their transition from this world a little less complicated with the guidence you could offer, would you?I ask myself this question everytime I doubt my resolve to pursue a future working with children with severe/terminal illnesses. Though, to many individuals it may seem like an immature or foolish reason to think that “Patch Adams” (the film staring Robin Williams) could be an inspiring film that can utimately give someone the passion to pursue a field to which he/she has previously gave up on. I want to to be an individual who can prove to himself and everyone else who told him it would be impossible, that it is possible to achieve a higher learnering in the field you are passionate about regardless of how difficult it will be. Unfortunately, being the rebellious adolecent I was, I decided to blame everyone else but myself for mistakes I have made.
It is a leader’s responsibility to serve others and inspire them to live fuller lives. Throughout the past few years, I have worked to become the best leader possible in hopes of enacting positive change. I’m often the person my friends turn to when they need encouragement. Though it can certainly be nerve-wracking to risk failure, seeking new opportunities is an important avenue of growth. I attempt to incorporate this message in all of my endeavors, including as a Gatton Academy Avatar.
The Summer Stay Scholarship would not only help me to achieve my educational goals but will also benefit my future career. By taking summer classes I will be able to complete all of class requirements to graduate on time. This will also allow me to complete other classes that I would like so specialize in during my time in school. Specifically, I would like to achieve my minor in sign language. Without taking summer courses I will not be able to receive this minor without an extra semester at school or overburdening myself for a few semesters.
