As Dalit men are becoming victim of various crimes and socio-economic conditions, they release all their frustrations and tension on Dalit female, generally their wife, and therefore the condition is becoming more and more serious. There have been many cases where Dalit women are tortured or murdered or raped just because of they belong to a caste or a class of people called Dalit. They have been victim of many offences such as prostitution, murder, rape, human trafficking etc. Dalit women are subjected to unique and greater vulnerability of violence such as extreme filthy verbal abuse and sexual epithets, naked parading, dismemberment, being forced to drink urine and eat faeces, branding, pulling out of teeth, tongue and nails apart from violence including murder after proclaiming witchcraft. They are sexually exploited by the upper caste landlords and rich and affluent men and then directed to trafficking and prostitution. Contractors and other employees working in project areas often illegally marry Dalit and Tribal women even when they are already married and quietly disappear after the work is over leaving the women with additional burden of child raising and stigma. The Dalit woman is granted no right of privacy in a caste hierarchy where the upper-caste male has the right have sexual relations with her whether or not she wishes it, whether or not she is married, even if she is under-age, etc. The child who is dedicated as a devadashis no right to choose her profession or way of life and born to serve and she at every moment is vulnerable.
