DECODING DIAMOND CLARITY AND BEYOND
Evaluating diamond clarity involves determining the number, size, nature, and position of these clarity characteristics, as well as how they affect the overall appearance of the stone.
No doubt, diamonds with larger and numerous inclusions are less valuable. However, many diamonds have inclusions that do not affect their beauty and appeal at all, when view with the unaided eye.
Know your comfort level with clarity characteristics and how they can affect the appearance of your diamond so that you can shop with confidence.
[1] DIAMONDS ARE GRADED FOR CLARITY
GIA grades diamonds for clarity using the 11 point diamond clarity scale as under:
EYE CLEAN DIAMONDS
Though not a standardised grading term, an ‘eye clean’ diamond is one that appears flawless. Diamonds, regardless of their clarity grade, may appear flawless to the naked eye when viewed at a distance of 6 to 10 inches in broad daylight and 20/20 vision. This is usually the case with brilliant-cut diamonds under 1 carat graded SI and above, as their brilliance masks their clarity characteristics.

BEWARE OF ARTIFICIALLY ENHANCED OR ‘TREATED’ DIAMONDS
Sometimes, diamonds may be artificially treated to make their inclusions less visible to the naked eye, in order to enhance its brilliance. This is achieved by various techniques such as using laser beams to drill into internal inclusions and bleaching the inclusions with acid, or using clear glass to fill in fractures in diamonds.
Diamonds that have been treated are no longer referred to as ‘natural diamonds’ and it consequently lowers the diamond’s value. Be sure to ask your jewellery if your diamond has been
In a capitalist world, there are many opportunities to succeed, but an individual must be willing to work hard in order to ascend the social ladder. In Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich, she undergoes an experiment to see whether or not the average low-wage worker can get by in America. Ehrenreich claims that based on the wages that the low wage worker receives, he/she can not really get by and thus they don’t really have a way to get up out of poverty. However, the working poor do in fact have an opportunities to succeed, such as working up the corporate ladder from the bottom and saving money to build wealth, making Ehrenreich’s argument invalid.
The artwork Untitled: Four Etchings by Glenn Ligon contains an immense amount of depth and symbolism using Zora Neale Hurston’s famous depiction of her relationship with racism. In his piece, Ligon utilizes a unique style of texture through his portrayal of the noteworthy phrase “ I do not always feel colored… ... I feel most colored when I am thrown against a sharp white background,” (Hurston). As one looks from the top of the image down, there is an extremely noticeable transition in the texture of the words from clear, smooth letters into letters that are blurry and smeared.
It poses no surprise that many retailers sell diamonds. According to Statista, in 1960 the average one carat diamond cost about $2700, fast forward fifty-five years it is now worth ten times that amount. Although all diamonds must meet the same standards and are rated equally there is a justification for spending thousands more to make the purchase at Tiffany’s versus Costco for instance. Costco is well known as a muti-billion-dollar wholesaler selling products in a variety of categories, while staying selective of the products they carry. Costco carries 4,000 difference products while supermarkets have about 30,000.
The Identity of the unknown, in this case unknown A, was determined to be acetyl salicylic acid. This was determined by comparing the melting points of the purified unknown crystals to the crude unknown. The known melting point range for acetyl salicylic acid is 135°C -136°C. The Unknown’s melting point was slightly off at 128.6°C - 132°C. This can be due to impurities of the crystals during the purification process.
They blend in so well to be nearly invisible. ' 'Better eyes are needed then, ' Serena said. "(60). These emphasize that sight is a delicate sense, easily lost, or diminished in ability, even though it is a very important thing to have. Serena, while not, in character, meaning this, says something that can also be seen through these quotes. That humans need better sight.

The story first takes place in Calgary, Canada, picking up from the previous book, “The First Stone,” with Reef finding out that his mentor; a youth worker named Frank Colville, has been killed by a “young offender” (Aker 18) in Halifax. He then “[spends] the whole flight from Calgary [… trying] to sum up [Frank’s life]” (Aker 14) in a eulogy. Leeza is introduced with her “lying in her bedroom in Halifax, Nova Scotia [… in] her parents’ Connaught Avenue home” (Aker 12). While the location of the story does not serve much purpose to the overall plot, it does, however, create a certain sense of realism to the story, which allows the reader to easily picture how the setting may have looked like. The atmosphere that is created through describing
According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook “Optometrists examine the eye and the visual system, they also prescribe eyeglasses to people that can’t see that well, and they also diagnose eye disorders.” The optometrist is a type of doctor, but an eye doctor is a special kind of doctor that deals with the eye and visual system. An optometrist, also called an eye doctor, helps people with visual/eye problems that might affect their eyesight, and that is why an eye doctor is important. The job of an optometrist is not a very physical job, but they must have good mental and social abilities as they make health decisions and work with the public.
“This rock, flawless” points exclusively at her engagement ring, “an 18-carat diamond with a £2.5m price tag.” (dailymail.co.uk). “My rock, flawless” shows possession and ownership with the word “my”. “My rock” could be referring to her husband, Jay-Z, as one’s “rock” is usually their “backbone”, or their support source. “My rock” could also be referring to Jay-Z’s entertainment company, Roc Nation, as she demonstrates support of her husband’s success as well.
The CVD process is supposed to “improve their color and optical clarity” (Scientists). Unlike real diamonds that are formed under high pressures, the CVD process uses low pressure and only produces a single crystal. Because of this, they can be diamonds can be made quickly and fewer defects. Also stated in the article, “The Carnegie team could take these synthetic diamonds and anneal them at temperatures up to 3,632 degrees Fahrenheit (2,000 degrees Celsius) at pressures below atmospheric pressure. The annealing process turns the diamond crystals, which are originally yellow-brown, colorless, or light pink.

Final Assignment of English Literature Reading BY YANG ZONGYOU, D01 “The False Gems”by the great writer Guy de Maupassant is a miracle that draws a delicate and precise image of France in the late 19th century. Written in an objective view, woven with sarcasm, this little piece of art reflects the truth of the society and humanity in its era without any obvious rhetoric, like a real old gem that shimmers constantly and gorgeously, leaving an ample space of ambiguity for readers to ponder over and over again. “The False Gems” seems to be objective, however, on the contrary, the plot of the story itself is a barrel of irony, in which the author 's opinion and emotion lies deeply — the genuine ones are found fake, while the false ones turn out to be real; knowing everything is not always good. Mrs. Lantin 's before-and-after contrary is ironic. At the very beginning of the story, everyone is convinced that Mrs. Lantin was a virtuous woman.
