Fiesta de San Roque
Saint Roch, the patron saint of dogs lived from around 1295 to 1327 in France. He was born in Montpellier and was the son of the city’s governor. Do Dah Day
Since 1980, Do Dah Day is one of Birmingham’s best-loved events that attract people from all over the United States. Founded by a small group of friends, the event has grown to be an all-out music festival rejoiced by pet lovers and their furry friends. Special prizes are given to best pet, best pet parents look-alike, best dressed pet and ugliest pet. The pet-friendly parade and festival is celebrated in May, every year.
Guisachan Gathering
Guisachan Gathering, popularly known as the Golden Retriever festival is run by the Golden Retriever Club of Scotland. Held at the ancestral home of the breed, the event welcomes Golden Retriever owners from across the world. Día de los Muertos Dia de los Muertos is the Day of the Dead, which is celebrated in Central and Southern Mexico during November first and second. The purpose of this holiday honor spiritually departed loved ones. According to Niu.edu, it is believed that on October 31st the spirits of angels are let down to Earth from Heaven to visit their living friends and families, they do not depart back to Heaven until November 2nd. Most hispanic citizens celebrate this day by decorating cemeteries with candy, flowers, skulls, parades and more. To celebrate, families make platforms and offerings of food such as Pan de Muertos (Sweet rolls) shaped in skulls and other figures.
Today I am honored to be standing here presenting the Conn Smythe trophy to my friend Duncan Keith. The Conn Smythe is awarded to the most valuable player during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I first heard of this tremendous defensemen back in the 2009-10 season where he helped prevail the Chicago Blackhawks to their first Stanley Cup victory since 1961. It seems like Duncan never has a bad season and makes very few mistakes on the ice. The amount of time he puts into this game really shows his dedication and love for hockey.

I am qualified to give this speech because currently I am a RA of Camaraderie a traditional house that is co-ed and mixed classes. I am giving the audience information about Resident Life and details of the applications. I start with what Resident Life promotes and how we accomplish that with programs and house involvement to build Mustang community.
