Culture is something that plays a part in all of our lives, it can be a strong influence on us or have non at all but it is present wether we like it or not. With that importance, we need to be able to understand what culture is. The dictionary definition is the ideas, customs, and social behavior of a particular people or society, but to me culture is more of the fusion of people’s ideas. This doesn't have to cover a region. There is a global culture, everyone has their own family culture, and the combination of everything we are exposed is our personal cultures. I consider myself to be from many places but I connect with Egypt the strongest out of all the countries I'm linked to. Egyptian culture is quite similar to other cultures in the Middle East, yet has some unique aspects to it. Family also plays a major part in Egyptian culture with most if not all Egyptians a part of large connected families. Certain traits are often seem to define us. One such trait is laziness. Look no further than where many of you are from or connected to you, the US. America is currently battling with a huge issue of racism with #Blacklivesmatter leading the cause for equality. A lot of issues facing African Americans in the US are caused by white cultural perspectives that African Americans are “more dangerous” or “thugs” and pose more of a threat than white people. This can be stopped if people attempt to remain neutral and open-minded when first interacting with something. People say that the influences cultural has on our perspective can help us make quick judgements and fast decisions, but these are often negative decisions.
