Cities like Hyderabad, Delhi, Agra, Kashmir, Kolkata, Varanasi and Farrukkabad are also known as Zardozi specialty regions. This has differentiated the craft from imitation products for shareholders and has also helped to retain one of the finest and oldest art forms of Lucknow. The most opulent form of Indian embroidery is the Zari and the Zardozi, known since the late 16th century, brought in India by the mighty Moghuls. The word Zardozi comes from the two Persian words Zar=gold and Dozi=embroidery. This form uses metallic thread.
Zardozi is either a synonym or a more elaborate version of zari where the gold or silver embroidery is embellished with pearls and precious stones, gota and kinari, making this art only affordable by rich people. Nowadays Zardosi thread has a plastic core and a golden-coloured outside. The thread consists of coiled metal wires placed on the right side of the fabric and couched with a thinner
Along with the medium used to create each is the method behind crafting them. The Spirit of Haida Gwaii started as a clay model, then the plaster cast was made, and it subsequently was cast in bronze (“The Spirit”). This is an extremely large process requiring complex machinery and more modern sculpting techniques. The Chilkat blankets, in comparison, were crafted quite differently. The men of the tribe were in charge of gathering the materials and manufacturing the loom and the women were the weavers.
I decided to focus on the Unicorn Tapestries for my Renaissance art project. The Unicorn Tapestries are a series of seven tapestries originally known as The Hunt of the Unicorn, and are tentatively dated between 1495 and 1505 which, according to the book timeline, is during the High Renaissance in Italy and the continuing Renaissance in the rest of Europe. Very little is known about the origin of these tapestries, and they are believed to have originated in the Southern Netherlands in Brussels. They are in phenomenal condition and the colors are still brilliant. Only one of the tapestries is missing a piece—The Mysterious Capture of the Unicorn a.k.a.

During the Renaissance, jewelry became more popular. Men and women wore jewelry. Men would wear jewelry on their hats while women wore earrings and pearls. Dangling necklaces appeared more as the neckline of dresses got lower (“Jewelry”). In the lower class, people normally didn’t wear shoes, but if they did the shoe was “a flat sole held by a leather strap wound around the leg.”
Ray Bradbury never seems to doubt his themes, or the way he presents them. From his first publication in the mid-1900’s to now he does not appear to falter. The same holds true for his short stories. In “Embroidery”, Ray Bradbury conveys a grim, bipolar ending to three women using symbolism, emphasis, appeal to emotion, and vivid descriptions. Bradbury’s style is very distinct and noticeable in all his works.
On a warm day in New York City in 1911, tragedy struck. It was an incident that would be written up in newspapers across the country; a horrendous incident that would change legislature, labor laws and hundreds of lives forever. This dreadful event left nearly 150 girls and women dead, and became one of the most murderous fires in the history of New York City. The day was March 26, 1911, and the fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory was an historic one.
Introduction African America quilting is a long rich heritage that is nearly as old as America history. Historically, black slave women were needed for spinning, weaving, sewing and quilting on plantations and in other wealthy households. Scraps, discarded clothing, and feed sacks, were the materials used to create the quilts. The women would work from dawn until dusk to create the beautiful quilts. Many of women were highly skilled at this craft and in their spare time, they would create scrap quilts or bed coverings for their families.
In the early 1800s, mills were starting to appear and they sold thread to women who would then weave it into cloth and sell it back. This caused a mixed between work and leisure, looms crowding furniture

West of the Diwan i aam is the Anup-talao a pool with a pavilion in the centre.
