Endocrine system is a set-up of glands, which produces and releases hormones that help us in the regulation of many significant body functions, especially with the body’s ability to convert the calories into energy that powers cells and the organs. This system influences how our heart beats, how our bones and tissues grow, even the ability to make a baby. It preforms an important role in whether or not we develop diabetes, thyroids disease, growth disorders, sexual dysfunction, and a host of other hormone related disorders.
Glands of the Endocrine system Each gland of Endocrine system discharges specific hormones into our bloodstream. These hormones go through our blood to other cells and help control or coordinate many body processes. It includes the following.

Whenever there is extra or high sugar in our blood, we pee more which is our body’s way of getting rid of it, A huge amount of water is released out with that urine, causing our body to dry out.

• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA). When our body doesn’t get enough supplies of glucose for fuel, it breaks down fat cells instead. This causes a chemical to be produced called ketones. Our liver releases the sugar it stores to help out, but it’s of no use since our body can’t use it without insulin, as a result in builds up in our blood along with the acidic ketones. This combined mixture of excessive glucose, dehydration, and acid build up is known as “Ketoacidosis” and can be life threatening if not taken care of immediately.
• Damage to our body. Over a course of time period these high sugar levels in our blood can harm our nervous system, small vessels in our eyes, hardening of the arteries, kidneys and heart. All this could lead to heart attacks and strokes.
It is important to note that, the higher the blood sugar, the more sugar comes out in the urine. If an individual's kidneys are normal, this usually isn't a problem, but if an individual has diabetes, too much sugar can cause kidney damage. The endocrine system is such an important system to the body because it functions the bodies use of hormones. The body uses many different hormones and the endocrine system regulates these. When the glands of the endocrine system secrete the hormones, the hormones are put into the bloodstream to be sent to the different parts of the body. The glands that comprise the endocrine system are the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland, and the pineal gland which are all located in the brain, the thyroid, parathyroid, and thymus which are located in the throat, the adrenals and pancreas which are located in the body’s midsection, and the ovaries (female) and testes (male) which are located in the pelvic region. The system is so important because it regulates the body’s metabolism, growth and sexual development, digestion, heart rate, and many of the other body functions regulated by hormones.
