Adaptation of Skeletal Muscle Fiber to Endurance Training Endurance exercise, also known as Aerobic exercise, is any kind of activity that increases someone’s heart rate and/or breathing rate. (Heart, n.d.) Endurance exercise, such as, swimming and running, keeps the lungs, the heart, and the circulatory system healthy and improves someone’s fitness altogether. (Heart, n.d.) Skeletal muscle adaption is determined by the intensity and the duration of a specific exercise. (Home, n.d.) Muscles must adapt to the Aerobic exercise in order to provide more effective energy. (Muscle Adaption, n.d.) When endurance exercise is regularly performed, significant adaptations are induced on the skeletal muscle. (Holloszy, 1984) An organelle called the Mitochondrion is known as the “powerhouse” for cells because it is responsible for producing Adenosine Triphosphate through the process of cellular respiration. (Mitochondrion, n.d.) Endurance exercises can …show more content…

Materials and Methods A frog leg was used for the muscle in the experiments. The skin was removed to expose the gastrocnemius, and the bone was severed just below the achilles tendon. The femur was cut just above the knee, and the tibiofibula was severed just below the knee. Ringer 's solution was applied to the muscle to keep the muscle moist. The procedures were done using a power lab, and a force transducer with a micropositioner.
Muscle cells need more mitochondria than fat cells because it needs to produce ATP. Muscle cells do more work then fat cells, so they are going to need more ATP and then need more mitochondria then
Question One: A. When you eat a Hungry Jack’s Ultimate Double Whopper you consume about ⅓ of daily recommended intake in kilojoules and 4/7 of fat. Now imagine adding 4 pieces of chicken nuggets, large french fries, soft drink and a caramel sundae. That’s about a whole day’s worth of energy and nutrients squashed into one meal. In Isaac’s case, an aftermath of eating a horrible days intake in one meal, he is unable to burn enough kilojoules to counter the accumulation of fat and sugar which is stored as energy, waiting to be unlikely be used and build up.

Along with physical activity, there are other elements that positively affect health. One element that I noticed growing up as an African American from the south was watching my grandparents grow their own produce. This is common because it is more cost effective to have a vegetable garden than to buy vegetables.

Muscular strength is defined by Hall, E. (2003) as the ability of a muscle group to develop maximal contractile force against a resistance in a single contraction. Greenfield, B. (2016) suggests that power and speed goes hand-in-hand with strength. Greenfield (2016) defined power as the ability to generate high amounts of force over a period over a short time, while defining speed as the ability to travel a set distance over as short a period of time as possible. These vital skills allows a taekwondo player’s muscular units in the lower extremeties the ability to kick, jump, and maintain stances. According to this study, their hasn’t been a consensus about the different investigative studies done on the effect of muscular strength training in taekwondo, and only one study investigated speed and agility in low frequency taekwondo training measured through 50m shuttle run test (Kim, 2011).
