The room is dark; the scent of lavender dances gracefully around the room. Eyes are closed and every ounce of stress has now escaped from the body. To the left, a diffuser sits on the wooden nightstand, emitting the calming properties into the air. Essential oils are oils extracted from botanical life and have been used for thousands of years to benefit millions of people, including a plethora of people today. They can be used for many purposes and are also used in many different medicinal and recreational ways. Essential oils are rich in history and in the amount of ways they are used; one of the best ways the oils are used is to help those who experience symptoms of anxiety. Another easy at home way to use essential oils is by steam inhalation. All that is needed is a bowl, or sink, full of how water, four drops of the desired oil, and a towel. The person just has to add the oil to the hot water, than lean over the bowl with a towel over their head for at least ten minutes (“Aromatherapy” University para 14). Another way to use essential oils in daily life is to take aromatherapy baths. All someone needs to do is prepare a normal bath, then add a few drops of the oil of their choice, and soak in the tub for at least ten minutes (“Aromatherapy” University para 13). An overlooked use for essential oils is to be used during acupuncture. Acupuncturists are trained and use essential oils almost everyday (“Aromatherapy” University para 11). Another doctor that uses aromatherapy are Naturopaths. Naturopaths, doctors who avoid using medicines and surgery by using natural elements instead, use essential oils for working with patients, and even on themselves (“Aromatherapy” University para
