Introduction
Evangelism is defined as “the spreading of the Christian gospel by public preaching or personal witness.” We see in Romans that it clearly says, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17 ESV). 1 On top of other countless verses that state the importance of evangelism, its importance needs to be recognized and the evident call that we as Christians have is to go out and “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 10:28). 2 This needs to be integrated into our lives heavily. Evangelism is a gift given and a tool used by Christians that requires our obedience and attention. Without evangelism being practiced properly, the Word of God and the Good News will not expand passed the doors of the church

Where better to start looking at evangelism than through the lens of the Incarnation of Christ. The book of John paints this picture perfectly for us; “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14 ESV). 3 This verse is earlier described by telling us “The Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1 ESV). 4 Jesus came down in the flesh and lived a life among us - on our turf. That is the most powerful example of evangelism that I feel is in the Bible. And if we want to successfully replicate Jesus’ example of evangelism it is through incarnational action. We need to join non-Christians on their turf, wherever they are in life. By building relationships, and by intentionally devoting ourselves to loving them, we are taking incredible initial steps to evangelism. But, how do we successfully view examples from the Bible as forms of evangelism? We carefully look at Jesus, and see the ways that He reached His disciples. We are to imitate the examples that He and others laid out for us and are to strive to live holy lives as the life He so …show more content…
I went to an Evangelical church at the time. That was something that we supposedly believed in and practiced. Why had I never recognized this happening or being put into action? As I understood my faith a bit better I saw in the bible, especially through the third chapter of John, an incredible example of Evangelism being practiced the way that it was presented to me. John the Baptist was responsible to prepare the peoples hearts and minds and announce the coming of Christ. He went around rallying people up and speaking of Christ in such a humble way all to simply point people to Him as it says
Since more cultures are crossing geographical boundaries, it seems that it would be much easier to be a servant for Christ. Elmer says, the “focus is relational
In part six, I thought there was a lot of good information spread out in all of the chapters. The biggest thing that stood out to me were in chapter 25. I enjoyed the first sections that were expressed. I enjoyed the idea about how Jesus recruits heroes to join him in critiquing theocapitalism. I think this means that he reaches out to people who are going to attempt to make the kingdom grow.
Many other European countries centuries later (i.e. Spain) would mirror the same evangelism to spread their religion and ideology to other cultures. Individuals or sectors who would resist would often times be martyred or subjected to slavery, in the America’s at least. The difference between the evangelism in the Americas in the 1500’s and the evangelism in Ancient Africa is that many people in Roman Egypt and other colonized Roman colonies, who were oppressed, sought out to find faith through Christianity and were killed for it. They saw hope, and promise through this Christianity. But the Romans saw the Christian church as a threat to their empire (Shillington, 74.)
Through today’s technology, the meager voices can become prominent and sensational; furthermore, the upcoming generation is indulgent and analytical in religious matters. The fact that Evangelical
The missionary goal was to try to convert African people to Christianity. There was social changes such as religion, especially in the 1880s. In the early 19th century, Christianity had a large amount of followers and have spread the religion across Africa. According to Boahen, in the 19th century there was only three missionary societies that was administering in West Africa, particularly the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, the Wesleyan Missionary Society, and the Glasgow and Scottish Missionary Society (Boahen). In addition, missionary also translated the bible into various African languages and try to teach different types of skills to the people in the matter that they have education, tailoring, trading and more.
Furthermore, there was the lure of the nation’s missionaries to spread Christianity and prepare the world for the second coming of Christs. In addition, many American business men thought
THEOLOGY OF REVIVAL AND SPIRITUAL AWAKENING In pertaining to spirituality, the evangelical Christianity is going down the slippery slope. A. W. Tozer, a theologian of 20th century saw the backslidden state of Christianity and has lamented over it: “Evangelical Christianity is now tragically below the New Testament standard. Worldliness is an accepted part of our way of life. Our Religion mood is social instead of spiritual.
In Thomas Long’s The Witness of Preaching, he aims to urge the reader to become a reliable witness of the gospel by way of ample preparation before entering a pulpit. The text offers to the reader a deeper understanding of the ministry of preaching. A useful component of the text contains informative bits of information that make the reader aware of the lengthy but necessary preparation needed for an adequate explanation of the scripture. Of primary importance is the consideration of the congregation when a preacher is first approaching the text. This point is of vital importance as it signifies that the speaker is a member of the body of Christ and the congregation.

In spite of multiculturalism hinders Christian evangelism in some way, we can take advantage of multiculturalism in another way. We can approach to many other nations without traveling overseas in Canada. There are varieties of people from many nations live in Canada who still actively and regularly connecting with their families, relatives, and friends from the countries they have come from. If we can evangelize them and make some of them faithful disciples of Christ, they will evangelize to their own nations.
Ed combats this view with the idea that the point of discipleship is not information, but Christ-like transformation. The second “broken view” presented is the fact that we try to program discipleship. Ed infers that discipleship is so much more than a six-week course, and people are looking for relationships more than discipleship classes. The third “broken view” is that we equate discipleship with our preaching. In fact, 56% of pastors surveyed believe their weekly sermon was the most important discipling ministry in the church.
As Martin Luther mentioned: “To preach Christ means to feed the soul, make it righteous, set it free, and save it, provided it
This is a reflection on Larry Osbornes book, Sticky Church, I did read the entire book. I have enjoyed it and would recommend it. Summary Many churches think they are doing well with all their new visitors and slight rise in attendance.

The Davidians compound was located in Waco Texas. Here, Koresh led the end of his reign and prepared for "apocalyptic" measure with fire arms and other alleged materials.
Early Christianity needed to depend on the missionary supporters to announce news and messages because of not having the assistance of modern innovation. Paul’s purpose in the 1 Corinthians letter was to spread God’s message and change how the way people live. It is written approximately three years after Paul left Corinth (54 CE). This is also recognized as the “previous
