The success of any nation depends on the strategies employed by the government. Strong leaders always have strategies that focus on the growth of the economy. The US has undergone several political, social and economic changes since the start of the 21st century. The rise of the US to a superpower has made many scholars to draw lessons from its leaders. Several leaders have contributed to the growth of the US economy. Among the people who have offered exemplary leadership in the US is Barrack Obama. Obama was the first black president of the US. One of his main identities is the family. As a husband and a father, he recognizes the need of a family in every public address he makes. In the US the family setting is recognized as the basic form of social identity. Through his words and actions, one can learn how a leader should conduct him/herself. In this paper, I will discuss the Obama leadership using the Kouzes & Posner five practices . The paper will provide a step by step analysis of the activities of Barrack Obama and how they show exemplary leadership.

This is where he showed how grateful and humbled he is, which emphasizes his credibility. Obama is very well educated in the nation’s history which is shown throughout this speech with all of his references to America’s history. 1. Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time. I consider myself a leader, i believe this because i am the type of person that feels like if i am not the one to do it then it will not be done the right way. Whenever i would work in groups i would designate myself to be the one to do the harder assignment, because i only trusted that would take it serious, not anyone else. Also, whenever i do anything that involves a team, i like to take control, because i feel like i am the best one to work under pressure or i can choose the best solution for any situation.
