This study’s aim is to identify the different effects of having and not having extracurricular activities. The participants were ten college students of different ages, who come from diverse backgrounds, study in different schools, and engage in various extracurricular activities. The students were asked to answer a survey regarding their extracurricular activities. The positive effects of joining in extracurricular activities are better grades, positive behaviors, exposure to different people, and productivity. The negative effects mentioned are poor time management, too much dedication to the activity, bad influences depending on the nature of the activity, and pressure.

Extracurricular activities are offered in almost all schools and universities.

It took me a long time to move on from the sport but eventually I did and I was able to mend things with my coach. Now, I have new hobbies: playing futsal for fun and drawing portraits.

Even though my extracurricular activity when I was younger affected me a bit negatively, I am happy to say that it really helped me to know more about myself and my other talents. It was not all negative, there were a lot more positive effects than negative effects because I was able to grow as a person by being exposed to different people, circumstances, and experiences. It has helped me learn about how important it is to be grateful, prioritize, be mindful of my actions and my words, and be more aware of my relationships with the people in my life.

Extracurricular activities is an important part of a student’s life. It causes students to be more productive and sociable. It also helps students perform better in school and improve their behavior. These teach the students how to be a positive contributor inside and outside of the school. Aside from these, extracurricular activities can help us indicate who the student is spending time with, what kind of mentors they have, and what kind of things they are exposed to. Knowing these things are important because then we can help the students more effectively in terms of guidance and
