First of all I would like to explain why I chose second topic. When I read the topics, I have remembered news about freshwater resources. In Turkey we used to hear same problems about freshwater resources, water pollution etc. Everybody knows that 30% of the worlds surface is covered with land and 70% is covered with water but almost all of that 97.5% percent is salty. Remaining 2.5% of water is locked up in glacials and permafrost. So only a small fraction is available for use,but nobody wants to see the facts that effect humanity all over the world. I have made loads of researchs about using freshwater resources. These researchs literally dragged me into the invisible and unknown reality of the water crisis. If the reasons for the water crisis lie in everyone's life, people should have shared responsibility and awareness level should have rised. Everyone knows that water is the building block of the living cell.Water is the building block of the human body, our planet and our food. So if we are the top of the water chain, water is down at the buttom. If the buttom wobbles, the top will fold.
In this project I evaluated the freshwater problems in Turkey, tried to specify water

Although water is limited, population is not. In Turkey last datas show that the population of Turkey will reach 100 Million in 2030, which means additively 25 000 people.
If we add the global warming to this population increase, we will not be known longer as a water stressed country. We will be known one of the water poor countries. If we are going further, in 2050 we must handle with big water crisis problem.Because of climatic condition in Turkey, the precipitation-flow relationships which change seasonally also show considerable differences from year to year and natural water supply falls to minimum levels in summer time when the demands are
In the article, “Water Controversies Boil Over”, from Sacramento Bee “Opinion” section, published on APril 26, 2009 by Mat Wiser. He argues the conflict about conserving the water. Mat wiser exclaims that in the next year nations will fight over water, because it’s not being handled in the most efficient way it should be. Water isn’t being handled efficiently, and that kills land, food crops, and animals ecosystems. Mat Wiser says that, “There is probably enough fresh water available to meet humans needs the problem is poor management of water, which results in scarcity and conflicts,” (2009 Wiser).
Do you ever feel like there is a piece of dry, and scratchy piece of sandpaper in the back of your throat from not having enough water? How would you feel if you could never stop the anoying feeling, that is constantly reminding you, that you could die from extreme thirst any day from now. The main reasons that China was driven into the intense water shortage is, their Government policies, Population increases and the most tremendous reason is the industrialization of China. One of the main reasons that is driving China's unfortunate water crisis is, China’s tremendous population growth. As China’s cities are increasing in population more of their residence are consuming their limited water supply.
Charles Fishman, author of The Big Thirst: The Secret Life and Turbulent Future of Water, presents in chapter ten, “The Fate of Water”, the importance of recognizing the value of water in order to solve water problems all over the world. Fishman uses Senator Arlen Specter’s town hall speech and an app called “Water Your Body” to point out that the real problems with water are water illiteracy and water mythology. He adds that water problems will be solved when people understand the beauty and qualities of water. In continuance, water has a personality and the presence of it can change moods and help people feel better. For instance, the WET company helps people see the beauty of water through magnificent water fountains.
People need to start putting their foot down and help make other people who are not aware of the situation more aware. Without water we will lose essential needs that we need to survive such as food and energy. Due to the climate changes and warmer weather, people need to become more aware of how serious the water scarcity is. As listed above there are many ways that people are trying to prevent the drought from continuing but the people who are using the methods to prevent are the people being affected by it now. All states need to take part in this prevention before the drought gets more out of control and it potentially taking all of the water resources.
(http://carleton.ca/parldiplo/2014/water-stress-protecting-communities-nation-world/) Water is a right, not a good to sell. People tend to forget that. "Nations with abundant water seek to protect it. And as the strain on water resources increases in the coming years and decades, that sentiment is unlikely to change."
Though, it is difficult due to the fact that companies are the ones who own the water and the government is corrupt when it comes to this. It also showed that how without water, there would be nothing. No trees, food, and obviously no water. Taking water out of the aquifers and depleting them can also cause sinkholes. Politically, the government does not care.
I think it's too late and the big companies have won. Despite that, I do think water should not have been commercialized and turned into a product. However, Mahatma Gandhi said it best: "There is enough water for human need, but not human
It is true that there are factors contributing to China’s water scarcity, such as Global warming, Water pollution and Industrialization but if China does not tackle this situation now or it will spell D.A.N.G.E.R.O.U.S. However, the three biggest causes of China’s water-scarcity crisis are Global warming, Water pollution and especially Industrialization. It is up to China's government, economic and political group to fix this problem. Can they do it or can
Did you know that 1.4 trillion gallons were flushed into San Francisco Bay, in 2008 just to save the Delta Smelt? There have been restrictions on water. For this reason, farmers are not getting enough water to use for their crops. In my opinion, the water should be kept for the farmers to use.
“As the population rises, the world 's water usage will rise. Many areas of the world already suffer from a lack of fresh water,” (Population Control 3). If the world runs out of freshwater, humanity will plunge into chaos. Humanity needs water to survive, and that is a fact. Relationships between countries will be broken apart over disputes for water.
So, because of the availability of clean water is being abused, the problem of wasting water started to emerge. Some people thinks that with all the water on our plant’s surface, why are many so worried about water preservation? People who waste water think that it’s from their right to have plenty of water. If one mediates the world around, he/she should have observed that all creatures on earth need water to survive. Furthermore, the shortage of water in the body of any living creature happen to cause health problems and even death.
Desertification and climate change in drier areas causes severe water shortages and even droughts. Western culture has created an increase in urbanisation, population and industrialisation,
2% of earth’s fresh water is frozen in ice caps; and, only 1% of earth’s fresh water is available to consume. 2. Unfortunately for our planet, supplies of water are running dry at an alarming rate. The world’s population continues to soar; but, that rise in numbers has not been matched by an increase in supplies of fresh water. Let’s talk about what is going on around the world; I will mention to you just a few major cities, and show you how they are dealing with water shortage.
Introduction Overpopulation is the excessive population of an area to the point of overcrowding and it is an undesirable condition in every country where the number of existing human population rises to an extent exceeding the carrying capacity of ecological setting. Overpopulation can be result from an increase in births, an increase in immigration, a decline in mortality rates and other factors that may cause overpopulated environment. Therefore, this can cause influence as lack of the available essential materials for survival like water, shelter, social amenities and other because of the numbers of people might be more than the materials for survival. In such condition, this regularly contributes to environmental deterioration, worsening
Water is the most important component found on the surface of the earth because it is source of life for living creatures. However, water pollution has become a global concern. Water pollution can have several forms from diverse sources. It is expected that there will be a lack of clean water in next few decades due to pollution. Nile river water in Egypt is the focus of attention of many studies due to many reasons.
