Society teaches male to aspire whereas the female counterpart is confined and limited. Women are taught to do household chores whereas men are free to explore the outside
Consumerism in relation to women is blatantly sexist in that it produces an ideology that female consumers are constantly purchasing extravagant items because they are incapable of spending money rationally. The theory continues to suggest that female consumers are searching to enhance their femininity to appeal to the binary gender
Often, individuals with higher income have flexible regarding purchases considering that they have enough financial power to use on basic needs and to save. As a result, such individuals are expected to buy the company products in bulk or more frequently irrespective of the price of the products. On the other side, low-income earners are not expected to purchase the company products in bulk or frequently. Nevertheless, consumer income is widely affected by the rate of inflation which determines the amount of money they receive as salaries and wages as well as the prices of the company’s product. Inflation is widely defined as the continued increase in prices of products and consumers.
Notably a lot of are behavior for shiny new objects is fueled from what is seen in everyday existence. Men and women both have expectations that society expects them to fulfil.. However, they can step up to the challenge and public speak as well or even better than males. Males biologically have a different mindset than women but the women can overcome the mindset that science predicts is who they are. They both have learned limitations placed on them that carry on to their descendents. The importance of the gender divide is evident because women have worked so hard to come to even be in competition with men.
The authors did an outstanding job presenting their findings in a way in which the reader can make their own judgments about the topic. Additionally, the authors did an exceptional job outlining the pros and cons of their own study. Graham and Louis 2010 state “We recognize this study has a number of limitation” (p.173). The authors recognize the findings may be inaccurate because of the size and interest of the sample population. The authors concludes this article with a detailed explanation why an individual could question the foundation on which their hypothesis is built.
“Money” Analysis Paper In MP Dunleavey’s essay, “Buy Yourself Less Stuff”, she discusses various flaws with our society’s use of money and suggests a few solutions to correct those flaws. Most people assume that buying things and having stuff will give them a lasting happiness, but the truth is the happiness that having material items brings is only short-lived. People continue to chase after this lasting happiness which creates what Dunleavey refers to as the “never-ending treadmill of consumption.” To avoid being on this treadmill, she suggests spending money only on things that will benefit people’s long-term happiness.
Materialism is a problem in American society, everyday people go for the next best thing just to show off their possessions. People show off what they have, and once they get tired of it, they begin to go for the latest, cellular devices, clothing’s, cars etc. According to Tim Kasser, “People develop ideals looking at the lives of their friends, neighbors, co-workers, and relatives” (Kasser52). What he is trying to say is, instead of every person helping each other expand in life, everyone is in rivalry with one another. In order to make an attempt at fixing the American society, making it less materialistic, people must become and think correspondingly of a minimalist.

The Gender pay gap is generally due to various reasons, such as differences discrimination in hiring process, differences in negotiations for pay, differences in education choices, differences in the jobs men can go compare to women can’t easily go for. Some factors that cause the gender pay gap: • Women leave and re-enter the workforce to meet their family and children expectations • Low pay for some jobs, like childcare due to historical trends that continue • Lower educational levels of women due to traditions • Discrimination in the hiring process, compensation and promotion at workplace.
Women are better in personal relationship and have the ability to describe situations as
The Genderlect Theory: Explaining Communication Between Men and Women Communication is an essential part of everyday life. People encounter some form of communication with others on a daily basis, whether it is face-to-face, electronically, etc. However, communication is not universal in that everyone interacts with each other through these several methods. Thus, numerous studies about communication from different viewpoints have been conducted.
Both articles relate to this concept in explaining how society and culture have created a patriarchic society in which the dominant gender is male. Gender affects how we think of ourselves due to the social expectations associated with being masculine or feminine, male or female. Society teaches us how to behave by having an establishing certain guidelines through gender roles. In other words, we are expected to follow a certain behavior due to our sex or gender. Males are expected to be leaders, tough, ambitious and proud while females are expected to be emotional, sensitive and affectionate patient, and
