Introduction
Gender inequality refers the unequal treatment of people based on their gender. In Saudi Arabia, gender inequality is still very visible today, For instance, Saudi Arabian women are not allowed to drive or swim, go out in the public accompanied by a man who is not a legal guardian, and try on clothes when shopping. The study of gender inequality in Saudi Arabia is important since most of its audience live in the 21st century where most customs, beliefs and laws have been overcome by time. This research will investigate how women in Saudi Arabia are denied their rights and treated unequally as compared to their male counterparts. The study will also find out the extent to which societal roles, beliefs, and body make up such as skin complexion contribute to gender inequality in Saudi Arabia.
