The concepts of the mind,the way we view and go about life, even our culture; for example the way we dress the music we listen to and our whole lifestyle differ from the generation before or after us. There is a term used to describe this division among our eras it is call Generation Gap. As stated in the CXC text book, "Social Studies for CSEC", "Generation Gap is the divergent views between teenagers and adults". There is a Generation Gap in the population of Jamaica between adults and teenagers from 15-19. In Jamaica the Generation Gap is very evident and be seen by the naked eye and heard by the naked ear. Generation Gap is heard by the way we communicate and even the lack there of. Our culture, the things that entertain the different generations and the diverse out look on life are all contributing factors to the Gap between our generation. The onus is on both adults and teenagers to find a common ground in which communication can happen without fear, awkwardness and segregation. This will build a good relationship between both generation which may avoid damage to any situation which may occur. Cultural change will happen and can not be stopped nor destroyed, from the beginning of time cultures have been changing or altered, so it can only be accepted. Cultural change can only be guided so that the wrongs may be taken out without damaging the flow of change. Generation Gap has invaded the Jamaican society and if both generation won't fix it who will? There is a saying, "the home rocks the cradle of society", so if Generation Gap is allowed to invade our homes and our lives, what happens to our society
