Global Health Priorities
In several forums by many actors have been discussed about global health priorities in recent years. Mostly, in 2000 and 2001, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria came to be discussed in a variety of forums inside and outside the UN.
The new set of goals, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), main aims is to end poverty and hunger by 2030. These goals were introduce because countries want to build on the many successes of the past 15 years, and go further.
1. End of poverty in all its forms of everywhere
- In 2000, the world committed to cut down the number of people living in extreme poverty by half within 15 years. However, still there are more than 800 million people around the world living on less than $1.25 a day.

4. Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all
- This goal aims for universal primary and secondary education, affordable vocational training, and access to higher education.
5. Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
- The goals aim to ensure that there is an end to discrimination against women and girls everywhere. As it is a basic human right.
6. Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all
- Shortage of water affects more than 40 percent of people around the world. Thus, this goal aims providing access to safe and affordable drinking water for everyone.
7. Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
- Become more energy-efficient and invest in clean energy sources such as solar and wind. As a result we can meet needs and protect environment.
8. Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
- Promote policies that encourage entrepreneurship and job creation. And eradiate forced labour, slavery and human
