Many people confuse the term ‘greenhouse effect’ and ‘global warming’ and believe that it is one and the same bad thing. But without the greenhouse effect the earth would be a lot colder. Life as we know it is made possible by earth’s natural greenhouse effect, simply put the greenhouse effect is what keeps the earth warm.
However, human activities such as power stations, factories, and transportation use fossil fuels and therefore release huge amounts of carbon dioxide. The clearing of forests are also contributing to the enhanced greenhouse effect, in other words global warming.
The greenhouse effect
The greenhouse effect is, as mentioned earlier, what makes life on earth as we know it possible.
The atmosphere is like a blanket surrounding the earth, and the atmosphere with the help of the greenhouse gases keeps the earth warm. Some of the gases in the atmosphere are carbon dioxide, water vapor, and methane, these are only a few of

In today’s society it might be hard to try to decrease CO2, methane and other greenhouse gases, but if we can afford to use renewable energy instead of fossil fuels and eat less meat than we do now then we might be able to decrease them. And we must remember that trees will help us on the road to improvement as they absorb the carbon dioxide that we let out, so for every tree that we cut down we should at least plant another one. We could plant a tree instead of placing gravestones to honor the person that has passed away. It is important to make all these changes now as tomorrow might be too late. Because the ice bears and other animals (that might not survive the big climate change) might not be alive when we decide that tomorrow is a good time to make a
Greenhouse gases are those that absorb and emit infrared radiation in the atmosphere. The most abundant greenhouse gases in Earth 's atmosphere are: Carbon dioxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide ,Ozone ,Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). Human activities also contribute to climate change by the amounts of greenhouse gases, aerosols (small particles). The largest known contribution comes from the burning of fossil fuels, which releases carbon dioxide gas in the atmosphere.
The greenhouse gases in the atmosphere absorb some of this energy, while the rest is emitted back into space, as a naturally occurring cycle that repeats daily which is needed to keep the earth 's surface warm. The green house gases that humans are adding to the atmosphere are like the steroids of the climate system. The problem is that humans are producing far too much greenhouse gases due to increased human activities that demand the use of energy, which has led to emissions and an increase in greenhouse gases. An increase in these greenhouse gases in the atmosphere means more heat is trapped in the atmosphere, and less is emitted into space, which essentially warms up the average temperature of the earth. A small increase in temperature creates major effects to our environment, which is seen in the idea of climate change.
Climate change is an irreversible consequence of the damage we do to our Earth. If we do not change our ways, the global temperature will swell, causing an unchangeable series of events, consecrating detriments onto all the existence upon Earth. In only about 140 years, the average global temperature has increased 0.8 degrees celsius, and the ramification is the irreparable destruction of the place where we and millions of other species live. The most important consequence of climate change is the global increase in temperature and how that is affecting various animal species all over the Earth, the health of humans, and the rapid rise of sea level.
Climate Change This quote said by Washington State Governor, Jay Inslee shows the severity of climate change “We are the first generation to feel the sting of climate change, and we are the last generation that can do something about it.” “On Earth human activities are changing the natural greenhouse of the Earth.” (A blanket around the Earth). Burning fossil fuels is causing carbon dioxide to be released into the air.
So What Causes It? Global warming occurs when greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and methane trap heat inside the earth 's atmosphere. Think about what happens when you open your car door after the windows have been rolled up on a hot day.
1. Introduction: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the important green house gases (GHGs) emitted in the atmosphere through various human and natural activities. The human activities include rapid industrialization and urbanization, deforestation, excessive use of fertilizers in agriculture, excessive use of fuels, papers and many other manmade resources whereas natural activities include volcano eruption, forest fires, earthquakes etc. Emission of GHGs in the atmosphere leads to global warming which is one of the primary reasons behind the atmospheric changes that affect the human life directly or indirectly. The consequences of global warming are extremely harsh seasons, untimely rains, extended summers and floods that results in human deaths, destruction of flora and fauna in addition to the huge economical losses.
What is global warming? Global Warming is the increase of Earth 's normal surface temperature due to impact of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide radiations from lighting fossil fuels or from the removal of trees which lure heat that would otherwise get away from Earth. This is a kind of greenhouse impact. Global warming is the determined and relieved increases in the mean temperature of Earth atmosphere and oceans.
Not only the future of the climate of our earth but also, the future of our generations would be determined by the amount of carbon we are planting in the atmosphere
Global warming is all about adverse climate change caused by the trapping of greenhouse gases in the earth's atmosphere that affects biodiversity and poses a serious health hazard. Scientists have found strong evidence that human activities have caused most of the warming since the mid-1900 (“global warming”). Humans are responsible for
Polar ice caps are melting, sea level is rising, wet places are drying, cold places are warmer, all of these things are caused by Global Warming. What is Global Warming? you might ask. Well Global Warming is a slow rising of the earth’s overall temperature. This means that it isn’t a drastic change and the world’s climate is getting heated up in a week.
Climate Change is one of the most unsettling problems mankind faces today. It leaves an impact on every single living thing, on every continent, no matter the privilege. Long term investment must be used to change the world. People must do more than just change out their light bulbs for eco-friendly ones, or drive fuel efficient cars. A choice as simple as changing our diets could reduce a human’s carbon footprint by fifty percent.
The most intense greenhouse effects include water vapors, carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide. Moreover, the other chemicals such as CFC also contribute to the green house effects. It should be noted that the absorbed energy from the atmosphere by the earth directly increase the surface temperature. The Earth only has the tendency to absorb and maintain 33 degree Celsius temperature, and rapid increase lead to destruction of the human life on Earth.
Global warming also referred to as climate change is the gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth 's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants in the air today. There are two causes of global warming, human influences and also natural causes. Global warming is increasing day by day because of all the natural causes going on. A greenhouse is a glass building that contains plants in it that needed to be protected from cold weather. These greenhouses attract heat from many things like the
One of the greatest issues that we face towards the environment has been an increasingly difficult problem over the last few years. Earths climate is changing at rapid paces and solutions are needed as quickly as possible to replenish natural ecosystems and cultures that depend on the environment. Climate change not only affects the animals in our ecosystem, but us humans as well. With the human population increasing every year, climate change is only getting worse. Many argue that the effects of climate change towards the environment are due to other extraneous factors, however, I myself am a strong believer that the problems such as rising sea levels, warmer temperatures and natural disasters are all due to both natural causes and human activity.
Global warming is the change in the average temperature of the earth is surface as a result of humans’ activity that pollutes the nature. The level of carbon dioxide has been increased in the upper part of the atmosphere which it leads to increase the average temperature on the surface which it causes many problems in many side of life including nature, health and economy. Increasing the concentration of carbon dioxide is due to release of poison gases to the atmosphere by cars, manufactures, oil field, burning of natural gases and smoking. Air pollution and climate change are a result of increasing the level of carbon dioxide around the world.
