When we look at the results of our research , we can clearly see, that if you would like to make city more walkable, the state or more specifically the city would have quite a hole in the budget. They would be short of the money that they usually receive from parking fees. We calculated how much money city would ‘lose’ if they became more walking-friendly or as we say later - more walkable. Afterwards we will explain, how the city could benefit, from being walkable, even though they would lose some money from parking fees. However, on the other side, inhabitants of the city and people who drive there to work, visit or come to the city for any other reason and have to pay for parking every day (we anticipated that in average, people park for approximately 2hours), would benefit very much. We calculated they would save a lot of money, if the city would be more walkable, if you could get from one place to the other, just by using your feet and public transport. When you look at the possibility that …show more content…
Here we just looked at the solutions, on how to make city more attractive for walking. Parks and pavements were clear choices at the beginning. Nevertheless, more we looked at the other possibilities; the more we realized it is impossible to have a walkable city without well working public transport. Everywhere we looked for different proposals, we just came back to public transport. Updating public transport would be the biggest objective. The other important problem is making roads and pavements safe for people. Because if inhabitants and tourists do not feel safe there, they will not walk. Sp, if you want to make city walkable, you need to start with inhabitants, and make their life easier by getting the things they need every day (shops, cafés) in their neighborhood. Here we just researched the topic on the internet and tried to get new ideas there and try to look at how people and city would benefit from
Will Krew Professor Rosado-Ramirez ANTHRO 101-6 2 March 2023 Argumentative Essay Often nicknamed the factory of sadness, Cleveland, Ohio has recently struggled to retain its population. In its early years, Cleveland, a key city in the Rust Belt, experienced immense growth with the manufacturing boom of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. As a result, Cleveland’s population peaked at 900,000 residents in 1950; however, as manufacturing subsided across the United States in favor of a technological era, Cleveland’s current population has declined to below 370,000 (“Cleveland”). Although many cities with economies based around manufacturing encountered similar declines in the late twentieth century, many of these cities, such as Chicago and
Before industrialization, people would make time for walking, just as they would make time to eat and drink. Through the decades the activity of walking has transformed due to the suburbanization of society. Many people have changed the way they view walking; this is a result of being exposed to suburbs, technology, and automobiles. In Rebecca Solnit’s essay, “Walking and the Suburbanized Psyche” she argues that the cultural activity of walking is fading due to suburbanization. The suburbanized psyche changes the way people think; most people want to get to their destination as soon as possible instead of walking and enjoying the wonders of nature.

What draws me to City Corps is my interest in protecting the city I call home. Being a "Brooklynite" in an low income neighborhood, life was not easy growing up as a black man. As a child, I lived through hardships like losing both my grandmother and my mother at before the age of 16. The joy I get from helping people is a feeling that never goes away, but is also a concept that is increasingly neglected and being replaced with racism. Being apart of the conversation is the only way you can begin to find a solution to the growing complex social issues in our society today.

The Freshman 15 is a thought that crosses the minds of most future college students, but most say that it won’t happen to them. This fear of losing a toned body after graduating high school bothers some more than others. They realize after high school there are no longer athletics, and they’ll no longer be exercising regularly. Also, when they depart from their parents house and begin to live on their own their eating habits change.
Introduction As the world’s population continues to migrate and live in urban areas, planners, engineers, and politicians have an important role to ensure that they are livable and sustainable. But what defines an urban area and what makes it so attractive? In my opinion, urban areas are places that consist of a variety of land uses and buildings, where services and amenities are easily accessible to the general public, and includes an established multimodal transportation network. Also, it should be a place where people can play, learn, work, and grow in a safe and collaborative manner.
Running, that word gives many people different emotions that range all the way from disgust to excitement. Most people will say that they would never willingly run, at least not without some motivation and other people might even say that they enjoy it. This is why the sport of cross country is so strange to people, in fact it is strange to me as well that people would willingly run, despite the fact that I actually run cross country. The main reason that people don 't think running is fun is because it is so physically challenging. Running requires you to always be on your game, the slightest injury or distraction can prevent you from doing your best.

The noise and inconvenience of these buses on narrow residential streets have caused inconveniences for citizens. Another negative externality the tech companies are creating is the effect of driving up rental prices within a walking distance of their company city bus stops. Lower-income people should not bear the brunt of the negative externalities of economic
Data and Analysis My main focuses were on the types of people walking about (e.g. I observed homeless people walking with shopping carts), the amount of maintenance (trash piling where trash cans should be), and the surrounding structures. This allowed me to see a general demographic of people and the present economic class . From my observations, the streets are not well-cared for, having uneven pavement and depressions. Graffiti is also a prominent feature and is all over buildings, ATM machines, signposts, parking meters--almost any available flat surface.

Nowadays, a lot of people have their own cars and one family might have more than two cars even. People find it impossible to live without cars but they don’t know how negatively it affects their life and even the environment around them that will affect their future later. No one can regret how cars are really important and useful in life but no one knows how it can make their life gloomy. The government should definitely start taking a step and stopping cars in big cities. Cars should absolutely be banned from big cities for pollution, traffic and accident problems.
TRANSPORTATION Transportation means moving goods or people from one place to another place. With the increase of the population, transportation came in to consideration both in passenger and freight transportation. Transportation in urban cities has to meet
