HOW TO GET REAL FRIENDS AND SHAPE PEOPLE’S BEHAVIOR Have you ever felt people don’t understand you? You are not the only one. Most people experience this at some point or another in life. The key to avoid this unpleasant feeling lies in positioning ourselves in a different angle, or in other words, putting ourselves into the other person’s shoes. Indeed, it seems contradictory if we know the other person is the one who’s wrong. So, why do we have to see things from his/her perspective? Although it seems it doesn’t make any sense, the truth is this is the best method to get real friends, persuade a person’s behavior, and/or make people understand us better. Changing our perspective will make it easier to ignite in the other person a desire, goal, or path. It will also help us build positive relationships in every facet of our lives such as school, work, church, marriage and so on. BLAMEWORTHY ASPECTS There are factors that …show more content…
Perhaps the education system is not the only one we should blame. What about us? How is our self-esteem and confidence? Do we feel comfortable expressing our opinions? HOW TO OBTAIN CONFIDENCE • Conquer your fear by doing what you fear the most. It sounds absurd, however, it’s the real solution. If you are afraid of spiders, running away from is not going to take the fear away. We need to face our fear to be able to overcome them. • Persevere. Perhaps, you need to cry, scream or run away from spiders several times before you conquer that fear completely. Nevertheless, every attempt is a victory, and little by little the fear will go away. • Keep track of your efforts. Having a journal where you can see your efforts helps you visualize your hard work. Since the results won’t be evident immediately, keeping a journal helps your brain understand you are with your hands crossed, you are actively working toward conquering your
Fear is something that everyone has. Fear can be found or created in every way shape and form. Some are scared of death, others are scared of mice. Fear can be found everywhere and for every reason. One thing that scares people is transformation or, change.
Depending on the person, time, and venue every view of a situation is different. Some people tend to stick to one perspective, never daring to try and see things from another point of view. They can’t see past their nose, so to speak. Others change their perspective often. Sometimes a person's outlook relies on how that person is feeling in the moment.
Blame can be defined in this case as a moral failure. Placing blame on
Viewing a situation only from one side of the argument can leave you unaware of the further details that could have played a big part in why the situation escalated in the first place. Hearing and seeing all the sides will help further your understanding on why people act the way they do, or why some things have
Fear is common in everyone and can be classified as a disease, but we must understand what fear is and how it is
People deal with different forms of human nature throughout their lives. A variety of human nature aspects can be used to describe different contemporary issues in today's society. For instance, blaming others is a widely spread aspect of human nature that every single human on Earth has to deal with in his or her life. Blaming is the act of accusing others of doing something that they didn't do or were not involved in. Another form of blaming is called scapegoating.
Fear controls your thoughts, decisions and ultimately, your life. Fear is a tool used to mold you and your surroundings. In novels, the author uses fear to make people play a certain role within the society. In Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, he uses the fear of the beast to make the characters go crazy and for example, murder others. On the other hand, M. Night Shyamalan’s
I think a great way to start that is in college making new friendships by starting up a conversation with a person I would normally not talk to. Another thing that I have learned is that I also have a hard time understanding others and why they do the things they do. It’s sometimes difficult for me to really understand why people act the way they do and what their culture has to do with the way they act and because of that I tend to judge them because I do not fully understand. This has also made me realize how others judge those around them. I see it every day when I’m on the bus going to class or heading back to my
Once in my life, I got to be an outsider. I wandered around for friends. I want to be happy with my friend, but no one wanted to play with me. I tried many ways to shows other that I can be a good friend, but no one knows it. My friend don't understand me, they don't understand why I act out like that, they don't even tried to understand it.
Fear is like a shadow, it may not always be seen, but it is always there. Fear is an aspect that is found in each and every life. It controls every move, and can be placed as a barrier between stepping forward. Fear follows everyone, the difference is who blocks the shadow, and who lets the light shine. In the novel the Chrysalids by John Wyndham, fear is a clear aspect that is visible throughout the story.
Our educational system is failing us. The United States of America is supposed to be the “greatest” country in the world but statistics are showing that our government/educational system is failing us; children/young adults of the nation. Being a student of a middle ranked school in Arizona, I personally have had a first-hand feel for how good and/or bad teaching affects students. Just in high school I have had teachers that would just assign websites as our lesson and even teachers that sit at their desk for the whole hour; don’t even go over the mindset, homework, and maybe only show one problem so that we’ll know what the homework will be like. Until sophomore year I didn’t even know the differences between you’re, your, too, and to.
Anyone that has ever literally tried having a conversation with a brick wall could come to this realization - having a real meaningful and effective conversation requires two logical people both interested in the other. After reading and studying Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People, I discovered my tactics for interacting with others weren’t parallel to the ways you can actually triumph in the social world. The quote by Dale Carnegie painted a clear picture for how I should go about interacting with others – “There are four ways, and only four ways, in which we have contact with the world. We are evaluated and classified by these four contacts: what we do, how we look, what we say, and how we say it.” The techniques used to obtain what we desire from people stem from our interpersonal skills and situational awareness.
I am interested in being a Link Crew Leader for many reasons. My sister who graduated in the class of 2016 was a Link Crew Leader and from hearing about the duty of being a Leader and how much fun she had excited me to want to become one. Another reason I want to be a part of Link Crew is because I remember my Link Crew day when I was a freshman, and how much fun it was. It assured me that I made the right choice in picking where I would spend my next four years. The activities helped me open up and meet my fellow classmates, which made my first few days of school much easier for me.
In “How to connect with people” I learn that to be able to connect with the people you have to get to know them first and listen and learn from them. If you want people to follow you, you have to know them and help them all
When my sister and I would have separate rooms, I decided to appeal to the logical part of my brain about my fear of the dark, telling myself that total darkness allows one to fall into the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage faster. Armed with this knowledge, I slept for the first time without light and woke up with no nightmares and feeling well-rested. By overcoming that fear, it changed the way I looked at what fear really was. In conclusion, fear is moments that are considered to be dangerous from an emotional standpoint but is actually the key to feeling a sense of pride and courage when one overcomes these obstacles. What I had regarded as a useless function of emotions just meant to keep people from their potential, I discovered that it was the opposite; fear is meant to allow people to recognize their limits, and have them motivated to push past them, to reach your true potential in
