Describe the distribution, growth, and dynamics of the world human population and analyze the impact of the human population on the environment.

Over the last fifty years the human population has greatly increased. In 1950 the world population was at a very low 2.5 billion people. In 2005 in just a short 55 years the population skyrocketed to an astonishing 6.5 billion people. In 2017 (Now) the population is still increasing sitting at around 7 billion people. It seems the population will only continue to grow, by year 2050 the population is estimated to be at a staggering 9 billion. In the U.S we have a pretty good life expectancy (Around 78-80 years) but globally it stands a measly 68 years. What does this mean? One way a human could play a role in a natural hazard is the extremely rapid rate of our population growth. How does this relate you ask? Well the more people on earth there are obviously the more areas of the earth get covered by humans. Areas that may have never been civilized 50-100 years ago may have thousands of people living there. Therefore a natural hazard is created because there are a group of humans living in an area where a disaster could cause deaths. I’m sure humans play another part in other natural hazards an example I can think of would be deforestation. Trees play a crucial role in how we survive and all the deforestation could cause instability in the environment, which may cause a hazardous area when the weather isn’t stable. The more the population grows the more demand we will need for places to live. Eventually we will have to inhabit areas we normally wouldn’t and in my opinion that is the biggest danger to a natural hazard because we will be forced to inhabit dangerous
