I regard my profession as a vocation, not just a job. What my language teacher once said was right. It is hard work and time-consuming, and unfortunately, not well-paid everywhere, but I want to do something about it and improve everyday as a person and a teacher. Therefore, I know that if I manage to study and research, finding better methods, I will be able to make the
One of the hardest parts in education for the students is to get the invitation from their teachers. Even without the invitation to education some students will thrive to do well for themselves, educationally and personally. It is theoretically impossible for a teacher to make sure every student gets the necessary push they need. Often times, the students who are struggling with their education will get the necessary push before the students who are succeeding. I know this first-hand how hard it is to get the invitation to education after succeeding most of my educational
It makes a difference. Respect should also carry over to your co-workers and administration. You should always learn and grow, but with respect from those you work for and with. An outstanding teacher sets goals for herself and her students. She is always striving to meet those goals and make new ones, but at times also has to change the goals.
The teachers want to be here, they want to make sure that the next generation of this world, is smart, problem solving, and well informed. Along with great teachers and staff, the principal, Dr. Richards, gives a very positive vibe to this school. He makes us feel as if we can do anything and be anything through his speeches. Adequate Yearly Progress only focuses on if the student is proficient at the time of the testing. This is a disservice to students and teachers because you are doing all this work to take a Standardized test. Standardized testing can create a lot of stress for both educators and students. A student with a 4.0 must pass all four standardized tests in order to graduate. That causes a student a lot of stress with all the hard work they do during the years it seems like a waste when it comes down to a test to graduate it can be very discouraging.
I was able to learn about how she has been able to improve herself and hope to do same. She told me how hard it is to take criticism from others and how it is important to learn to take it and grow from it. Learning to understand others and step outside yourself is important in setting aside your pride in order to grow to be a better leader. Working on listening to understand instead of listening to reply is vital in your growth as a leader. Hailey was able to give me some advice that really stuck out to me.

General education classes are a common aspect of universities all across the country. However, after examining the statistics, I believe that colleges are requiring too many classes outside of students’ majors. Not only are students forced to enroll in courses that they are not interested in, but they are also struggling to stay motivated in school. Since students are not retaining the information gained in these classes, colleges are also putting these individuals in an unnecessary amount of debt. While there is merit in taking these general courses, the amount of classes needed over four years is discouraging and expensive.

I will keep in mind to enjoy my hobbies, and set time aside for my personal life. Working with exceptional children is a demanding career, to avoid becoming overwhelmed and exhausted I must remember to maintain a balance, and structure both at work and at home. I will stay serious about educating students and their needs, and yet not forgetting to have fun and smile. Another great technique I learned from Ms. Preston is model-lead-test approach. What is meant by learning disability and what are some of
