FUTURE SCENARIOS What if the illiteracy rate of a particular country continue to increase? This will result to decrease in the Economic growth of the country. Many people will not be able to work or find higher paid jobs. It will be difficult for the illiterate to fully understand what is happening around them. They lack skills, and they are unaware of other things that would benefit them as an individual and as well as their family. What if no one had concern for those people living on places with less education opportunities? Those people will not be able to experience how a normal individual should live, like learning to read and write. An average person should be literate because it is their right. It is important that we learn to help other people to read and write. For me, as a student I would love to do something to help illiterate people even just in a simple way that I can such as being part of a campaign against illiteracy or find ways to coordinate with people who have a higher position to assist me in school or outside to be involved in their movements and programs. Moreover, if we help them to read and write, it will be a benefit for the country not only in the economic growth but also for the citizen way of living. All of us can make a difference only if we take the first step. What I would really like to happen is for the disadvantaged children to have a better education so that they would live a blissful life and I really don’t want discrimination with people with disabilities because as a person I believe and for a fact that everyone should have equal rights here on
