The Impact of Corruption in Economy
Considering the empirical evidence on its negative and adverse consequences, fighting corruption has become an important issue to be concerned about. According to Gardiner in Mauro, “Corruption, basically, is a usual ubiquitous aspect of political society. Corruption can be defined as using the public office for private gain, or using an office position or status to get a personal benefit”. This aspect is spreading in almost over the world with many forms of actions, especially in Indonesia. It is unlikely that many reformers will ever eliminate it completely. Many reformations have launched their law and rules to fight this case, but the growth of corruption is uneasily decreased. Corruption can be caused by many factors which can make Indonesia be the one of the most corrupt country in Asia. Corruption may lead a country to the decreasing of the economic growth, so it is very important to set an appropriate corruption eradication to lead Indonesia to be a better country.

According to Mauro (1996), “Corruption has a number of adverse consequences that economist and policy maker are concerned about. In particular, recent empirical evidence seems to suggest that corruption lowers the economic growth”. These are supported by the factual evidence. Corruption may bring a loss of tax revenue. It can be caused by the tax flow is out of tax responsibility which is used to gain a personal benefit. Corruption may lead to the adverse budgetary consequences. Besides, corruption also leads to a lower quality of public infrastructure and service. Because it is possible that most of the corruptors use the cheap materials which is not standard and gain the remain of the contract money to become a personal

Memorandum #2 To: Brother Packer Form: Jordon Haderlie Subject: Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) I have chosen to look deeper into the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act because it is something that I don’t know much about. I have always wondered how things work when this law was taken into effect and so I will be exploring the law its self and then looking at cases where it was used. (1)

Power is the source of all evil in the world which makes it more dangerous than everything else. Particularly, all of the most horrendous people in history all wanted this one thing called power. Power changes people by corrupting them, making them greedy, and bring out the darkness in people. Corruption only helps a society by trying to gain more power for that one ruler in the region.
This was portrayed in the documentary by one of the police officers who said you might not achieve a good or desired result sometimes but a good result might just be that you have successfully disrupted the situation. Like in most of the cases the girls went back home. Their parents were not persecuted but they became aware that they are being watched by the authorities. Social worker is a relationship-based profession nevertheless it is their moral duty to challenge injustice in the society. I learnt in today’s session that cultural diversity can create ethical dilemmas for social works and in cases there would be no direct answers.
For example, the corrupted people can enjoy a better life but other is still get trouble on how to live a good life. The most dangerous effect of corruption is when judiciary is corrupted. Development, justice and civil society are based on law and justice, but in developing countries corrupted people uses law to justify their illegal behaviors. Otherwise, there are many cases that government officials cooperate with mafia in other developing countries.

Corruption occurs in a government when politicians are bought out by private companies. These companies would pay the politicians large sums of money and in return, the politicians would do political favors for the companies. According
As I watched the documentary “Road Beyond Abuse,” I experienced a whirlwind of emotions. From disgusted and disappointed to impressed and joyful, I felt it all. It truly disturbed me to hear about the experiences both Michael McCain and Johnnetta McSwain endured. I was disgusted that no one protected these innocent children from being verbally abused, beaten, raped, and left to fend for themselves. It was shocking to hear that these children withstood this amount of abuse from their family members until they were teenagers.
Thru my investigation, I found that the DSS began recruiting non-profit organizations in the community like La Alianza to fulfill its sociocultural gap; especially, racial and ethnic minorities to provide the welfare for the abused and neglected children in the state of Massachusetts. A collaborative relationship with La Alianza was established by DSS, with an intention to manage and offer better child welfare services. La Alianza was highly reputable at the time in fulfilling its mission. DSS hoped that La Alianza would close the cultural sensitivity gap they were struggling with in providing the childcare and family needs in the Hispanic community.
This non-profit organization was trying to help as many prisoners that were wrongly accused or sentenced to death row when they should not have been due to age or mental status. The workers were not getting paid for their services they worked out of passion to help those wrongly convicted or sentenced. The largest advocacy group in Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption was the Equal Justice Initiative or EJI. EJI was founded by Bryan Stevenson himself after finding a passion for helping those wrongly condemned to death row. It started by just helping fight the cases of those people who were either innocent on death row or who should not have received such a harsh punishment due to mental illness or cruel and unusual punishment for the crime they committed.

Some democratic states tend to successfully overcome the problem of corruption, some in contrary faces with the more dramatic trouble than before. In the some unsuccessful, discourses were made blaming democracy as a tool for greedy agencies to take advantage from the people of the country.
There are many issues regarding the welfare of children from all over the world. Children have been repeatedly impacted by wars and conflicts in their countries. Moreover, many children from some areas do not have access to their rights such as education and health and have to suffer from discrimination, violence, abuse and sexual and economic exploitation. After the World War II, Children from all over Europe had to suffer the aftermath of the war. This is when the United Nations stepped in and created United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, or as today’s shorter term, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in December 1946 with the sole purpose to lessen the suffering by providing foods, clothing and health care.
