George Washington (n.d) once said “Instruction is the key to open the golden gate”. Education is the secret to a successful life; it changes many things in the world. In the past, most people did not have the chance to get education as people do nowadays; they were just learning the basics such as reading and writing. But, nowadays there are many schools that offer a huge number of academic subjects. Art education is as necessary as mathematics for students. Despite that, many schools do not teach art or do not give it an equal attention like that given to other academic subjects. In fact, art education offers a lot of majors like drawing, sculpturing and acting. Even though some people think that art education is not helpful for students, there are many reasons why art education is important to them, like improving the visual skills, academic …show more content…

Basically, some academic teachers say that focus on non-academic subjects more than other subjects will disorient the students and they will not do well in the exams. For example, music subjects will confuse the students at school, they will focus on practicing for events and stay absent-minded in class. Also, there are some parents who think that non-academic subjects will affect their children’s future career. However, art can affect students’ life positively. To illustrate, art can help students use their visual skills in studying. Also, when students use art as a hobby, they will take off the bad energy from their mind. Moreover, when students are used to draw, they can think outside the box. Evans (2008) reports that Winner says that students who are involved in arts achieve better than those who are not involved. In addition, it is not mandatory for everyone to be a lawyer or a doctor because nowadays the society wants writers, actors, and athletes
