1.THE NEED AND RELEVANCE of TREES Humans need trees to survive. We also need them because they provide us with beauty in our daily lives. Our existing forests and the trees we plant work in tandem to make a better world. Not only are trees essential for life, but as the longest living species on earth, they give us a link between the past, present and future. It’s critical that woodlands, rainforests and trees in urban settings, such as parks, are preserved and sustainably managed across the world. The lives of humans and trees are more interconnected than we may at first think. Trees belong to the plant kingdom, but they are very specific types of plants. We have to make sure that our team includes: • Site partners, including those responsible for maintenance and those with authority over the land the project is on. • People of various ages and backgrounds. • People with the needed knowledge and skills. After the permission, a committee shall be formed with some influencers, some experts on the plantation and some government officials from the City Administration. Select a date and time when volunteers are able to participate. If a school is involved, you will most likely need to plant during a weekday rather than in the evening. If outside youth groups, civic organizations, or people who work during the week are to be involved, evenings or weekends will work better. Always select a rain date when you set the date and be sure you have a system in place to notify participants if the weather does not allow planting. The expenses shall be discussed months before the Event and the committee shall come up with a cost of the Event. A fund raiser shall be held asking for support from the community leaders and businesses and shall look for potential grant
