Importance of Video Games With the rapid development of modern technology relatively new type of entertainment has emerged. Video games have become one of the leading industries and their amusing qualities are quickly making them the favorite hobby for millions of children and adults alike. With such a speedy expansion of computer games parents of gamer children are worried about the potential negative effects of modern entertainment (Brazier 2016). Large number of parents seem to have this belief that computer games are highly addictive and long term exposure to them may lead to such disorders as social isolation, depression, obesity, and violence (Brazier 2016, Gray 2015, Griffiths 2002, Granic, Lobel, Engels 2014). As a result of such beliefs it has become a common practice for lots of parents to excessively control and limit their children’s obsession (Brazier 2016). They condemn and reject this type of entertainment with the intent of maintaining healthy lifestyle but recent studies may give them another perspective on this subject (Gray 2015).
