Pyrmont’s population is projected to reach 20,000 by 2020, which means that further development of the suburb is required to sustain this growing population. The development and construction of more and more apartments will inevitably increase the suburb’s and Sydney’s ecological footprint. There has, however, been the recent development of sustainable apartment blocks, which consists of water conserving taps, solar energy panelling, natural gas outlets and other sustainable aspects of development. Transport has also been revitalised in the Pyrmont area with over 34% of the residential population utilising the facilities. The new light rail and monorail systems, train, bus and ferry networks play a major role in sustaining the suburbs ecological sustainability.
We eat at restaurants like KPG, Giffords, The Villager, and Shanghai. To get to these places, we walk on the sidewalks of roads where there’s sparse, yet fast traffic. I’ve never considered these roads a danger to myself, and am unmindful of the cars whizzing by.

Introduction As the world’s population continues to migrate and live in urban areas, planners, engineers, and politicians have an important role to ensure that they are livable and sustainable. But what defines an urban area and what makes it so attractive? In my opinion, urban areas are places that consist of a variety of land uses and buildings, where services and amenities are easily accessible to the general public, and includes an established multimodal transportation network. The street that I chose to observe and drive was Valley Boulevard in Los Angeles, CA. Valley Boulevard beings over by LAC/USC Medical Center where it is connected to Main Street and runs until California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (CPP), where it then turns into Holt street. The length of Valley Boulevard is about 50 miles and passes through at least six different cities; Alhambra, Monterey Park, El Monte, City of Industry, Walnut, Diamond Bar, and Pomona. Valley Boulevard runs parallel to the I-10 freeway and I normally drive the 10 freeway to get to Cal State LA, but on numerous times I have exited to the freeway to stop and get coffee or lunch before class.
It is somehow hard for us to discover the beauty of nature in Hong Kong, the hustle and bustle city. Only when we put the work or stress away temporarily, can we truly feel how beautiful the place we are living is. As a pessimistic person, I often get stressed easily. Usually I would put myself in a quiet place, away from the crowds and the hardship I am facing. Tai Po Waterfront Park is the place that cheers me up.
