Physical hazard may refers to as the harm causes to the human body without necessarily touching it. Like Heat and cold
It affects the workers as heat stroke, heat cramps, burns and foot sore, frostbite, immersion foot.
For prevention the temperature should be maintained
Noise
Has two types of effects: Auditory and

The Owner’s Building The owners of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Max Blanck and Isaac Harris, had a historic fire to happen in one of their buildings, which was the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. This fire was one of the worst fires in New York with a total of 146 people that died. The fire started supposedly under a table when someone threw a cigarette butt under the table which then caught on fire. The owners on the other hand were being accused of arson because Blanck and Harris owned other types of buildings that also caught on fire.
The 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire caught the imagination of Progressives and validated their arguments about the American economy. The factory fire broke out in late March and claimed the lives of over one hundred workers. This factory was what seemed like a normal factory in New York City on the outside, but had dangerous and unsanitary working conditions on the inside that remained unknown until the fire broke out. This calamity would help to bring new laws and regulations on factory conditions and rights for their workers.
In the 18th century began a great movement called the Industrial Revolution. While the Industrial Revolution was a great turning point in the history of mankind, it had both positive and negative effects. The Industrial Revolution led our civilization to great technological advancements as well as great losses. During the Industrial Revolutions, many inventions were made.
“The most important of the changes that brought about the Industrial Revolution were (1) the invention of machines to do the work of hand tools; (2) the use of steam, and later of other kinds of power, in place of the muscles of human beings and of animals; and (3) the adoption of the factory system” (Industrial Revolution). The Industrial Revolution was a big event that happened in Europe. Those three main changes impacted everything in a huge way. The Industrial Revolution in Europe was a positive occurrence that changed how products were made and how people lived their everyday lives.
War profits that were invested into the industrialization, helped the economy become stronger. However, industrialization was insanely horrible for the United States during 1865-1900, for the reasons of working conditions, corruption and the boom and bust cycle. The working conditions in the factories, that the workers faced were scandalous. These horrible working conditions resulted in the workers performing strikes because of unhealthy environments, low wages and overcrowding.
While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative consequences for society because of the dangerous working conditions with no compensation for injury, it was actually a positive thing for society. Industrialization’s positive effects were that there were more jobs, child labor laws were created, and there was better transportation. The first thing was that more jobs were introduced. This made it easier for people to provide for their family, and although everyone had to work, they were all able to get a job so they could work.
While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because there were many new job opportunities , it was actually a negative thing for society. Industrialization’s negative effects were little or no education, over competition for jobs and child labor laws weren’t enforced. First of all I would like to start off by pointing out that “In the Picture of “an Urban Tenement” you can see that there are kids around the house which is kind of implying that there not in school learning but instead you see them at home with women who which we can imply are their mothers”(document 6).
Industrialization itself brought along many things both positive and negative, some of which are still affecting us as a society today. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative consequences for society because of the harm it did to people of that time, it was actually a positive thing for society. Industrialization’s positive effects were economic prosperity, Efficient, serviceable inventions, and more, and better jobs.
The Industrial Revolution was one of the most influential periods of our modern history. This revolution gave people the power of faster, quicker and cheaper ways of life. Since the launch of the revolution, we have formed mass production of goods, easier ways of transportation, and economic growth. While some believe that industrialization had primarily a positive consequence for society because of the mass exports of goods around the world, it was actually a negative thing for society. Industrialization’s negative effects were child labor, city life, and worker’s salary.
Infection control refers to action devoted to policies and procedures that reduce the risk of spreading infections, reduce the occurrence of diseases caused by bacteria and viruses, parasite. The infectious diseases are normally spread by human to human, human to animal contact or by ingestion of food, droplet in the air, and contact with a surface that is the vehicle of the infective agent. H1N1, commonly known as the swine flu, a viral infection, was a cause of 2009 world-wide pandemic. The virus was first found in pigs, but a similar virus also found in humans. The virus spreads in a same manner as any other seasonal flu, mainly by droplets (small particles in the air) when an infected person coughs, sneezes or even talks, but also by touching
Effects of the Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution was an important event in history. It brought about many positives during its time. For instance, kids were well fed, educated, and clothed. There were plenty of negatives, as well. One very sad example was the machine injuries that happened to both children and adults.
Heat is always a factor in this line of work because summer is the time of year that a technician has to labor the most. A tech works in hot, confined spaces like attics and under houses. Working in the heat can cause cramps and dehydration; these health issues can
The detrimental Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire is considered to be one of the most tragic disasters in history. On March 25th, 1911, a fire broke out and killed 146 garment workers who were mostly women. These women worked countless hours with low wages and inhumane working conditions in a factory. Even though this event was tragic, the triangle shirtwaist fire helped to shape the new world for the better. The multitude of workers trapped within the inferno to their demise was the final straw for the mistreatment of America’s workers.
An electrical injury can be caused by touching live electrical parts, wearing wet clothing and not having proper repair work performed by qualified people. To avoid these injuries from electrical hazards, a welder should take the proper precautions such as reading all labels and instructions and inspecting equipment before proceeding to weld. Confined spaces are spaces with only one way in and one way out, such as pits, storage tanks, utility vaults, boilers and compartments on ships. Confined spaces are hazardous because if the entrance gets blocked or sealed there is no other fast safe way out and confined spaces have poor ventilation. To avoid being injured inside a confined space constantly ventilate and monitor that fumes are at safe exposure levels.
Introduction There are many factors which shape health and safety at work and safety culture is one of them. The purpose of this paper is to explore that factors surround safety culture in an organization. Safety culture can be define as internal and external factors which may impact an organisation negatively or positively. Some of those impact can be influence by management commitment, communication, production service demand, competence and employee representative Hughes and Ferrett, (2009).These internal factors can be portrayed differently in business and organisation because of their agenda-setting. Reason for this is that every company has what it would like to accomplish on a daily basis and some of those internal factors can influence the
