Definitions of Infectious Diseases
An infectious disease is an pathogenic infection caused by the spread of a microorganism, such as bacteria, virus, fungus, or a parasite. Germs are known as pathogens, tiny organisms that invade the body and make you sick. Majority of the microorganisms that live in our bodies or on our skin are harmless. These are called good microorganisms, they are beneficial to our health by providing protection from the bad microorganisms. While on the other hand, when given the right circumstances some microorganisms can cause harmful diseases. Infectious diseases can be passed from one person to another, transmitted from insects bites or animals, by ingesting contaminated food or water, or being exposed to a toxic environment.
There are four different kinds of infectious diseases, bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic. Bacterial infections are caused by small bad bacteria that can be examined on;y by a microscope. Harmful bacteria can cause

There are two ways to come in contact with infectious agents, either directly or indirectly. Direct contact is by coming in contact with an infected a host and then ontracing the disease. Infectious disease can spread through direct contact by these three examples, from one person to another, from animal to person, or mother to unborn child. Person to person is a very common way for infectious agents to spread, for example, touching, kissing, coughing, or sneezing on someone who is not infected. Pathogens can even spread through the exchange of body fluids from sexual contact. Some people may even have the disease but have no symptoms, this is simply known a carrier. Animals may pass harmful germs to a person if the person is bitten or scratched by infected animal. If a pregnant woman contracts harmful germs, it can allow an entryway for the pathogens to pass through the placenta to the unborn
TASK 2 Infectious diseases are the invasion of host organisms, (microbes) which can be invisible to the eyes. The microbes are also known as pathogens. A microbe infects an organism (which is known as the host of the microbe). In a human host, the microorganism causes a disease by either disrupting an important body process or by stimulating the immune system to mount a defensive reaction. The pathogen, interferes with the normal functioning of the host and can lead to chronic wounds, gangrene, loss of an infected limb, and even death.

Anyone can contract a level three virus from breathing in horrible air. There are several types of diseases that a person can get from accidently breathing in these pathogens are Tuberculosis and Coxiella burnetii( Richmond, n.d.). both of which could potentially kill a human that comes in contact with
In my article, Zika virus, it states, “The Zika virus ‘is now spreading explosively’ in the Americas, estimating between 3 million to 4 million infections in the region over 12-month period.” (Botelho 1). From the article we can tell the Zika virus spread explosively because of infections. One way this book is similar to my article is that, both texts show contagiousness by explaining, infections. Both of these texts also show that little causes have big
This disease’s transmission would be spread through bodily fluid, sexual contact, blood and semen and even material contact too.. It can be transmitted very easily and very consolidated to contain. A perfect representation of this topic would be when a nurse had gotten the Ebola symptoms from taken care of a Ebola patient, Thomas Duncan. The nurses name is Nina Pham and she got a transfusion from a Ebola survivor and it seemed to work very well. Even though she was stricken with such a deadly disease, she was more worried about her King Charles Spaniel named Bentley, who also had a potential health risk to the community.
The last one is the septicemia plague, it spreads through the bloodstream. It comes from infected fleas or infected
This specific bacteria attacks the lymph system causing the infection to spread throughout the body. The reservoirs of this bacteria and disease are mice, rats, squirrels and other small animals. A reservoir is a host of an infection. The vector, meaning carrier, is insects such as fleas and
The disease can also be spread y kissing, sharing drinks, toothbrushes, lipsticks and
Yeast infections most often occur in the moist areas of the body particularly on the mouth and genital area in both men and women. These are caused by many factors including poor diet, hygiene and stress management while the symptoms include red, painful and itchy sores, lesions and rashes. The good news is that natural remedies for yeast infection are often the only methods that anybody with a yeast infection will need to treat the condition. And even when over-the-counter medications are necessary, the following natural remedies are still a must because of their preventive value. Yeast infections are less likely to occur with healthy lifestyle changes since the causes are directly addressed instead of just providing temporary relief for the symptoms.
Smallpox is a highly contagious and fatal disease that had a huge impact on the human population. It is thought to have been originated from India or Egypt at least 3,000 years ago. Smallpox is caused by two variations of the variola virus, variola major and variola minor. Variola major is the most common form of smallpox. It enters the body through the lungs and is carried to the internal organs.
In special cases, Yersinia Pestis bacteria would get into the skin if a human had a

(a) A vector is known as an infected insect that carries the disease from one animal to another and from one plant to another. The difference between a vector and a host is a vector is the
Deadly diseases are things you should really worry about. There are diseases that are very deadly. Some disease could kill you within days maybe even in minutes. There are disease that make you dehydrated and you die. The Bird flu is one of the most deadly diseases.
Such illnesses include dysentery and smallpox. Many of my friends have met their fate at the hands of dysentery. Dysentery is an infection that causes diarrhea, with blood and mucus visible in the feces. Smallpox is a virus in which a person gets a severe fever with pustules. Here at Valley Forge, our surgeons and doctors have made smallpox less of a threat.
•The influenza infection is extremely infectious: When a contaminated individual coughs, wheezes or talks, respiratory droplets are produced and transmitted into the air, and can then can be breathed in by someone close-by. •A person who touches something with the infection on it and afterward touches his or her mouth, eyes or nose can get to be contaminated. •An influenza pandemic, for example, the one in 1918, happens when a particularly harmful new flu strain for which there 's practically no immunity shows up and spreads rapidly from individual to-individual around the world.
