Every relationship has core or main beliefs and values. These values and beliefs can be influenced by cultures, or influenced within a relationship or adopted from other individuals. Without beliefs and values one would not be able to be identify or defined by other individuals.

Communication has changed, teenagers can have conversations behind screen and the disadvantage being that we can’t tell one’s true feelings and intentions behind the screen or by just looking at the text they sent you. This also makes teenager feel the need to always be on their cellphones, which results to losing concentration meaning they don’t listen and listening is main value that one should have in a relationship. Cellphones and the internet have paved a way to cyber bullying and the lack of creativity from teenager because everything is at the tip on their finger, this then make teenagers think that life has all the answers for them and that they don’t need to do anything which is very wrong because a relationship does not revolve around one person only, it takes all of us in order to have one. With today’s American teens, the concept of social norms can be easily be pointed out. As social norms is an established manner of behavior maintained by a society, teens today can easily be argued to follow a manner of behavior, such as texting, taking selfies, and wearing the latest trends. The ,hipster, is unique to today’s American teens, an example of visual representation and a subculture. Even with our own personal experience and observations, most teens today represent the typical hipster. Skinny jeans, chunky glasses, and checkered or plain T-shirts, the American teen hipster is a recognizable figure in the modern U.S. As a subculture to today’s teens, the hipster movement brought about new styles of music and fashion.
The main objectives in chapter 9 include the ways media attempt to influence people’s attitudes, beliefs, and/or behavior, ways media technology can be disruptive and have adverse effects on behavior, the positive and negative influences of certain kinds of media, such as advertisements or reality television programs, on self-image. Even though media is a great outlet, media has changed our generation causing effects on self-image and human interactions. Because of its pervasiveness in American culture, the media affects people in both obvious and subtle ways. Modern media comes in many different formats, including newspapers, magazines, television, social media, etc.
Sacrifice, according to Merriam-Webster is "to give up (something important or valued) for the sake of other considerations", what Frankenstein by Mary Shelley revolves around. Science, God, and creation are the main elements that spark the novel into life. Without the sacrifices that Victor makes, the novel would not have the same result. Core values of a person are characteristics that define that person. Everyone should know obviously what are our core values and why they have it. Since social media came around , there’s have been a decrease in real-life conversations , More people are building a relationship online and drifting away from the real world.
